Ryan’s Miracle Watch 10/31/15

We would like y’all to know that we are a multi-sport enjoying family. We don’t just like football. Tonight we’re enjoying watching the Warriors play the Pelicans, and heading into the quarter, the Warriors are up by 14 points. Ryan is cheering them on using his quite voice; something we asked him to use when he was younger, but didn’t always obey. Now, I could care less about him using his quite voice, and wish he would use as boisterous a voice as he possibly could…

Psalm 98:4a   Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth…

“On particularly rough days when I’m sure I can’t possibly endure, I like to remind myself that my track record for getting through bad days so far is 100%…and that’s pretty good” Author Unknown

Praise the Lord, He sustains us…

Psalm 23:1-4   “The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.” Author Known…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 10/28/15

Had a bit of rain today. Only about 15 minutes worth, but a welcome sight nonetheless. Hope it is a sign of things to come. We can certainly use a bit more around here.

Ryan seemed to enjoy it. I know his grandparents did, as they stopped his therapy for a moment to go outside and stand in it. Oh, the kid inside never seems to go away. Sometimes (not that often, though), I feel like I’m still in my teens. I know mentally I’m still there…

Okay, I just teed one up for the peanut gallery. Fire away…

I love this Bible passage for Ryan today…and every day…

Psalm 91:14-16   “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

Lord, If it be your will, please heal Ryan today so that he may live a long and healthy life in your service. Amen

Mark 13:35-37   “Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back—whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn. If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping. What I say to you, I say to everyone: ‘Watch!’”

So be it…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 10/25/15

My how time flies. Seems like only yesterday when I was able to cradle Ryan in one arm. Now, when I have to move him, it takes all my strength to move his man-sized body. It’s a good thing I’ve got the body of a 20 year old.

The previous sentence was typed during a dream sequence…Then I woke up.

Isaiah 40:29   He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.

Occasionally I receive emails from people who have experienced or are experiencing similar situations with their children such as ours with Ryan. I received one such email this evening from a mother whose son is in a stage 4 coma as a result of a car crash. Even though I’ve replied to all those whom I’ve received such emails from, I’m not always confident I’ve said the right things. My only hope is that they know what I’ve said comes from a compassionate heart, and is meant to be of comfort and encouragement.

Will you please pray that the words I’ve spoken will be received as such? And, also pray for this mother and her son; for God to give her an abundance of peace, comfort and strength, and for her son’s complete healing…quickly. Thank you.

Ryan is doing really well. Thank you for your continued prayers and love for him…and for us.

May God Richly Bless Each and Every One of  You!!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 10/23/15

Ryan is looking forward to seeing his mother, who is coming home tonight after being away for a week out of town. I went in to tell him, and he seemed excited to hear the news. I know he likes her more than me; but then again, what child doesn’t like their mother more than their father? I’m okay with it. She’s more deserving…

Hug your child tonight, but if they’re not home, be sure and pray for them…as I know you do…

“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”      Numbers 6:24-26

JOY   noun:   something or someone that provides pleasure; a source of happiness

What a joy it was to watch Ryan this evening. He was as calm as he’s ever been. And, he even smiled a couple of times. Not sure why he was smiling though, because Cal lost big time to UCLA. Uh oh! I wonder if he’s a UCLA fan? NOT IN MY HOUSE!!

James 1:2-3   Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
