So I was talking to a friend this evening, and he didn’t know that today is “Back to the Future Day”. You know; in “Back to the Future Part II,” Marty McFly travels to October 21, 2015, to save his children, yet to be born in “Back to the Future’s” 1985? Well, if you hadn’t heard this before, then I’m glad I was able to bring you up to speed with all that is deemed important in world news today.
On another front, Ryan is doing well and has been a most upstanding citizen. Oh! And he was delighted to learn that it is “Back to the Future Day” today. I would like a hover board…please.
DOUBT noun: the state of being unsure of something
“I am not what I ought to be, I am not what I want to be, I am not what I hope to be in another world; but still I am not what I once used to be, and by the grace of God I am what I am. Therefore I trust in him and do not doubt.” John Newton
Some people just get it…
Mark 9:24 Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”
Sitting here with Ryan tonight. There is absolutely nothing better in the whole universe than spending quality time with a loved one, period
I don’t get onto FB or the internet very often, because I get so confused. Everybody has an opposing opinion about something…anything to someone else’s opinion. There are sayings about how to live, what to think, where to work…jokes about this and that…all sorts of advice…and way too many pictures of cats…The following are just some examples…
“All men should make coffee for their women. It says it right in the Bible. Hebrews”
“If you love someone, set them free. If you hate someone, set them free. Basically, set everyone free and get a dog. People are stupid.”
“Blondes be like: I saw your phone! Who the @!&%$ is Amber Alert?!?”
“Never laugh at your wife’s choices. You’re one of them.”
“Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Give a man a welfare check, a free cell phone, food stamps, section 8 housing, a six pack of beer, a crack pipe and some Air Jordan’s, and he’ll vote Democrat for the rest of his life.”
So, Ryan and I will be spending pretty much the next two and a half weeks alone together, while his mom is out of town on business. We’ll be entertaining ourselves and laughing at some of the things we find on the internet…
So, I went in to see Ryan just now after having been away all day, and of course he’s asleep. He looks so peaceful, so I didn’t make any noise so as not to wake him. It’s a good thing he’s not drooling, otherwise I’d be in trouble…
Punctuation is Powerful
An English professor wrote the words…”a woman without her man is nothing”…on the chalkboard and asked his students to punctuate it correctly.
All of the males in the class wrote: “A woman, without her man, is nothing.”
All the females in the class wrote: “A woman: without her, man is nothing.”
This debate is even worse than which came first, the chicken or the egg?
I’m so confused…
Colossians 4:6 Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
Those of you who’ve been following Ryan’s Miracle Watch for a while, know that I get to watch him on Thursdays and I consider it an honor and privilege to do so. Tonight is no different. I don’t believe there is a greater calling than to look after or care for one of God’s children. I believe it’s a direct result of loving God with all my heart, and trusting Him in all circumstances.
Ryan looks really good tonight. In fact, he looks so good, it feels more like he’s watching over me…
Ryan was always (well, maybe not always, but a good portion of the time) ready and willing to help out his pops (me) whenever he needed it. Well, I could’ve used his help today, as I was at his grandpa’s house moving about 8,000 pounds (yes, 8,000 at least) of concrete around. Needless to say, he missed out on the workout…which, I’m sure, would’ve been one of the few times he decided he wasn’t going to help. That’s quite alright, though. He needs to rest so he can get better…
Dear Lord, Please heal my boy tonight if it be your will. I’d like to wake up tomorrow to this good news! Thanks in advance. Amen
ENCOURAGEMENT noun: the act of giving hope or support to someone
“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.” Pablo Picasso Hmmm, not only was Picasso a great artist (beauty is in the eyes of the beholder), but he also had some pretty good things to say.
1 Peter 4:10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
Ryan has a lot of gifts. Most are stifled at the moment, but one that shines as brightly as ever is his gift of encouragement. Please allow me a little leeway here as I attempt to explain. As I look at him laying there, he encourages me to be strong, persevering, loving, kind and hopeful. I have been built up in faith as a result of this gift of his. Thank you Ryan for sharing your gift with me…with us.
1 Thessalonians 5:11 Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
Lord, Please heal my boy tonight so that he may once again use the other incredible gifts you have given him. Amen
Thank you to everyone who have prayed and are praying for the Cygnarowicz family. I received several responses from y’all and am appreciative for all of the love and support you’ve displayed; not only for them, but for us all these years. You are truly an amazing group of friends and family, and I thank God for you daily.
I had the privilege of watching Ryan a little this evening. He and I watched Monday Night Football for a bit. He seemed to enjoy it; unlike when he’s forced to endure hours upon hours of Gilmore Girls’ repeats with his mother…ha ha.
I pray y’all will have a wonderful nights’ sleep and a great day tomorrow on purpose!
