Today is a sad day for me. My heart goes out to the Cygnarowicz family. Please pray for them. They’re in need of God’s comfort and love, as their youngest son & brother unexpectedly passed away yesterday. They’re like a second family to me, and he was very near and dear to my heart. I am in shock, and still processing the news. I hurt, for them…and for me. Thank you for your support…
Revelation 21:4-5 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
The deepest level of worship is praising God in spite of the pain, thanking God during the trials, trusting Him when we’re tempted to lose hope and loving Him when He seems so distant and far away. At my lowest, God is my hope. At my darkest, God is my light. At my weakest, God is my strength. At my saddest, God is my comforter.
Isaiah 40:29-31 He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.
Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion.
But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.
Job 33:4 The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life.
God is like oxygen. You can’t see Him, but you can’t live without Him
We praise God for the air purifiers and filters He has provided for Ryan! They keep the air in his room relatively free of dust and other airborne particles. Yes, we do thank Him for what some might consider to be small or insignificant. I say we should be grateful for everything God has blessed us with, no matter how big or small…
It’s always nice hearing from the nurses that Ryan has had a good day. We’ve been hearing that a lot more as of late. He really has been looking good. I can’t wait to watch him tonight. Oh! And Jacob is coming home from college for an extended weekend! Woo Hoo!!
“The trouble with quotes on the Internet is that you can never know if they are genuine.” – Abraham Lincoln
Sometimes when I watch Ryan (which I get to do tomorrow night), I read him things to help keep his mind sharp; actually it’s to keep my mind sharp (or attempt to make it sharp…like a marble) because he’s way smarter than I.
I read him things like the following:
The bandage was wound around the wound.
The farm was used to produce produce.
The dump was so full, it had to refuse more refuse.
We must polish the Polish furniture.
The soldier decided to desert his dessert in the desert.
Since there is no time like the present, he thought it was time to present the present.
Words are fun, aren’t they? It’s a good thing Ryan is here to help explain them to me…
Ephesians 4:29 “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.”
Loved this post on FB today:
“Don’t judge someone just because they sin differently than you”
Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
We are blessed beyond measure. I don’t know if y’all can read the comments that come into this site from well-wishers, prayer warriors and the like, but they are truly uplifting, encouraging and, quite frankly, what help sustain us through this season of our lives. I also receive several emails on a daily basis letting me know that y’all are thinking and praying for Ryan and us.
In case you were wondering, it’s true what they say about life going on. Well, it hasn’t stopped. It’s just different than what it was like before. Nonetheless, we trust God’s plan for Ryan and us, and look forward to seeing the daily miracles that He reveals to us…and ultimately to the day when we’re in heaven and get to see and understand (hopefully) the big picture. I know it’s a big picture, because no matter how long I or anyone else lives, I/we won’t be able to see it all in this lifetime…
Lord, Please heal Ryan today, so that I can at the very least see that part of the picture. Thank you.
BEFORE YOU SPEAK, THINK!
T = is it True?
H = is it Helpful?
I = is it Inspiring?
N = is it Necessary?
K = is it Kind?
This is a good thing to do, and one I will practice from now on. It’ll be pretty obvious when I mess up…
Ryan had another good day today. Janine said he moved his eyes in the direction of her voice; something he does on occasion; and lately more frequently. The nurses and his teacher say he also does the same with them from time to time. We’re still waiting to get the eye tracking computer thingy to see if he is, indeed, able to track on a consistent basis, and if/when he does, is he able to comprehend what he’s hearing?
Thank you Lord for watching over us today, and for the many blessings you poured upon us. We are grateful for you mercy and kindness. Cause us to do the same unto others from now forward…
Ah, we love fall weather around here; slightly chilly air in the morning, plenty of sunshine revealing leaves turning beautiful colors of red, orange, gold and brown. Did I mention football?
I’m so happy that we put oversized windows in Ryan’s room so he could gaze out at God’s magnificent creation. Magnificent it is!
Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
I don’t know how many days left until Christmas, and I could really care less considering I do my Christmas shopping on the 24th of December, but for those of you who are OCD (like I am, kinda), you may want to start your Christmas shopping now; that is if you haven’t already started…How’s that for a long sentence? Those of you who are American (English) teachers may correct my grammar if you’d like…
Ryan is going to be healed! You can count on that! After all, he’s healed in Heaven!
Please do me…and Ryan…a favor, and visualize him being healed NOW! I truly believe that God wants us to believe this for him. DO YOU TRULY BELIEVE? That is the question…
John 11:26 …and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
