Ryan’s Miracle Watch 11/30/15

I try to write something everyday on this site, so you think I’d know what day it is; or at the very least, what month, but I can honestly say I was caught off guard (more like shocked) just now to find out it’s the last day of November, which means tomorrow is December 1st; as if it weren’t obvious. Am I the only one who forgets what day it is? I must be getting old…

So, I went in to visit Ryan tonight and he was gazing off peacefully into the distance. I said hello, and he turned his head, looked me straight in the eyes and began to move his mouth as if he was trying to say something to me. Oh, how I long to hear the sound of his voice again. If only…

Now that the official Thanksgiving Day is over (but, being thankful should NEVER be over), we’ll turn our attention to adorning the home with Christmas décor. I sure hope we don’t suffer from  P.O.P.D…Perfect Ornament Placement Disorder. It would be a tragedy to miss real reason for the season…

Hope y’all survive Cyber Monday…

1 Chronicles 16:34   Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.

Why, when we prepare food the first time, can’t we make it taste like leftovers? For some reason leftovers just taste better…

So, Ryan and I had a great time together yesterday evening. We talked (well, I did anyway), watched a little football, ate a couple of turkey sandwiches (again, just me) and just enjoyed each other’s company…I know I enjoyed his, anyway. I’d enjoy it more if he could participate more, but am thankful he is breathing and relatively healthy despite his condition. Some might call it being thankful for the little things, but in Ryan’s case (and quite frankly all of our case) breathing is a relatively substantial thing. In fact, I believe all of God’s provision is substantial…

A child can always teach an adult three things; to be happy for no reason, to always be busy with something, and to know how to demand with all his might that which he desires…Be happy!  Paulo Coehlo

My boys were good teachers…

1 Thessalonians 5:16   Always be joyful.

Luke 2:49   “Why were you searching for me?” he asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?”

Ryan is happy today, because his brother Jacob came home for the Thanksgiving holiday. Well to tell you the truth, I’m not really sure how Ryan feels, but I’m happy he’s home.

Ryan’s looking good these days. He seems more relaxed and comfortable. Let’s hope this trend continues and is a sign of good things to come.

Speaking of good things to come…

Philippians 3:13-14   Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Jeremiah 51:15-16   He made the earth by his power; he founded the world by his wisdom and stretched out the heavens by his understanding. When he thunders, the waters in the heavens roar; he makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth. He sends lightning with the rain and brings out the wind from his storehouses.

We serve a mighty God! This same God offers us a wonderful gift…

Isaiah 45:22   Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.

MERCY   noun:   alleviation of distress; showing great kindness toward the distressed

GRACE  noun:   the free and unmerited favor or beneficence of God

We have so much to be thankful for…

Was cleaning out a storage room in the house the other day and ran across Ryan’s computer; one I had gotten for him to write his music on, complete with music producing/editing programs, etc. He was so excited to get it, and spent a few days, or weeks (I can’t remember how much time) creating songs on it just prior to him getting injured. I wonder what musical gems are on it. I wonder what gems he wanted to create. I wonder what gems he will create…some day…

Ephesians 5:19b   Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord…
