Ryan’s Miracle Watch 12/30/15

Janine and I are going to be away for a couple of days attending a friend’s wedding. It’s only been a few hours, but I miss my boys already. Please pray that everything will be okay at our home with both Ryan and Jacob. The good news is, Janine’s parents are there to keep a watchful eye on things.

Isaiah 41:10   Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

The things you learn on FB. Priceless…

“Once you lick the frosting off of a cupcake, it becomes a muffin…and muffins are healthy. You’re welcome…”

“I don’t need a personal trainer so much as I need someone to follow me around and slap unhealthy foods out of my hand.”

“THE MEANING OF LIFE IS TO FIND YOUR GIFT. THE PURPOSE OF LIFE IS TO GIVE IT AWAY.” Picasso

Ryan has never been on to hold anything back when it comes to using his gifts. In fact, he’s pretty much given everything he’s got. What a blessing from God to us…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch Special Prayer Request 12/28/15

I’ve just been informed that my dear friend (more like a second father to me) Mr. Thornton has cancer and that he’s been given only a few more weeks to live here on this earth. The good news is, he’s put his trust in Jesus and made peace with God and he’ll soon be celebrating in heaven with those who have gone on before us. I say “us”, because none of us is immune to death…

Will you please pray for Mr. Thornton and his family? Number 1: If it be God’s will, that he will be healed completely. Number 2: That God will pour out his peace and comfort upon them in an abundant way.

What would you do if you knew you only had a few weeks left to live? And why am I not doing it now???

Always remember: The greatest gift you can ever receive is not found in shops or under your Christmas tree.

Romans 6:23   For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

And it’s free!

Was a relaxed day today. Ryan, as always, was a gentle young man. I know I’ve said it before, but it’s worth repeating (at least for me), there’s something very charismatic about Ryan. His peaceful nature makes me want to hang around him all day long…but I don’t, because I know kids don’t want their parents hanging around them all the time…and besides, the nurses wouldn’t let me…

I pray God blesses each and every one of you in a very special way this week! Watch for it…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 12/26/15

Went to see Star Wars tonight with Jacob and Janine. Sure wish Ryan could have been there. Maybe he and I will have a Star Wars movie marathon…

He’s been doing relatively well lately. The only thing that still is an issue is the biting, or rubbing, of his tongue which causes it to bleed. Please continue to pray that somehow he’ll break the habit so his tongue can heal…

Saw this posted on FB…

“My muscles are sore, but they work. I didn’t sleep last night, but I woke up. My wallet is not full, but my belly is. I may not have all I want, but I have all I need. My life is not perfect, but my loved ones are. I am truly blessed. Are you?”

I am so grateful for the way the Lord has taken care of me and my family!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 12/25/15

The last time there was a full moon on Christmas was in 1977, the year I graduated from High School and started college. So, that makes me really young…NOT! The next time this will happen (not the high school or college part) is in 19 years, so you’d better soak it in while you can. I hope I never see it happen again, because I’d rather Jesus came back long before then…

Ryan and I spent the afternoon and into the evening listening to Christmas carols, watching the Warriors destroy the Cavs and some other forgettable TV programs. Now, we’re just sitting here in the still of the night basking in the glow of that full moon. God’s beauty is all around us…all the time. All you have to do is look…

May God Bless You All this Christmas Day and every day that follows!!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 12/24/15

The true meaning of Christmas…

And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)  To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. – Luke 2:4-14

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!! LET US REJOICE IN THE SALVATION THAT THE LORD HAS GIVEN, AND IN RETURN MAY WE PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME FOREVER!!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 12/23/15

Well here we are again, about to celebrate the birth of our Savior. Seems like yesterday I was warning y’all to start your Christmas shopping early. Did you take my advice? I don’t expect you to, as I don’t even heed my own warning…

So, I’ve been accused of giving away the ending of Anne of Green Gables and thus spoiling it for some (actually one…Bill), and therefore apologize profusely for having done so. The story doesn’t end there, however, as the following of Anne Shirley’s life continues on in the next novel-turned-movie “Anne of Avonlea”. So, technically I didn’t really give away the ending, since I didn’t reveal the ending of Anne of Avonlea. I’m sure you can guess what happens to Anne Shirley in the end, however…

I would sure like to see a Christmas miracle. Wouldn’t you?

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 12/22/15

So, Janine sent me out on some errands today to pick up some Christmas wrapping paper, a couple of presents, etc. etc., only to find out it was so she could take over the TV remote and watch girly sappy holiday stuff. When I came back, I was strapped down to the couch with Duct Tape (well maybe, not really, but it felt like I wasn’t allowed to move) and forced to watch for the hundred-thousandth time…wait for it…”Anne of Green Gables”. You know, that long drawn out movie where Anne Shirley and Gilbert Blythe love each other, but are too stubborn to get together until the very end of the movie; just after Gilbert rises from his death bed and Anne’s first published book comes out. Side note: Gilbert called off his wedding because Anne’s the only one for him, and Anne didn’t accept the proposal of Morgan Harris. My facts might not all be straight, so I may have to suffer through it again tomorrow otherwise I’ll feel badly that I misled y’all…Get the tissue…

“Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it… Yet.”

Don’t tell Janine, but Ryan and I secretly watch sappy movies on Thursday nights…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 12/21/15

They say that “Home is where the heart is”. Well if that’s the case, then my heart is in heaven, because God got hold of it long ago and y’all know where he lives.

Be on the lookout for falling trees. I was laying in bed this morning when I heard a cracking sound followed by a big thud and what sounded like little pebbles hitting the side of our house. I immediately went outside to see what it was, and found that a large oak tree in my neighbor’s yard had fallen over. It had snapped off at ground level; the result of years of draught producing a rotted trunk, and recent heavy rains being soaked up into the branches making it top heavy. Fortunately, the tree fell harmlessly to the ground; no injuries to anyone or damage to anything. Praise God for His mercy. All this to say that we need to be aware of and on the lookout for trees surrounding our houses which may be ripe for a fall.

We also need to be on the lookout for things which could cause us to fall…
