Ryan’s Miracle Watch 2/29/16

If they had to add a day to the year, why did it have to be a Monday??

I know I’m not the first person to have asked this but, when someone is born on February 29th are they a year older every 4 years? In other words, if I were born on February 29th, would I then only be 14 years old? I’m confused. And I’m not sure whether it’s because I’m too old or too young to understand…

I guess the reason there’s a 29th of February is to prove that time doesn’t really matter…to God anyway. It’s man’s way of trying to make up for lost time. Don’t waste what little time you have…on earth, that is…

Let’s all thank Gregory and Julian (the Romans) who created the calendars. Brilliant gentlemen! Brilliant!

I’ve had the privilege of watching Ryan this afternoon and evening. What a great way to spend the extra day this year!

Happy leap day everyone!!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 2/28/16

Over the past several days, I’ve been installing hardwood floors in the remaining portions of the house. I know, it’s about time. It’s been years since I put in the first floor in one of the bedrooms. Both boys helped install that floor; and they were a tremendous help, indeed! One boy would pick out the boards, the other set and tapped them into place and I’d nail them in. What a team we made…

Lord, Please heal my boy Ryan and protect my boy Jacob. And if it be your will, please can you allow the team to play/work together at least one more time? Thank you.

WARRIORS!! STEPHEN CURRY!! We are watching one of the best of all time at what he does. He is something special, wouldn’t you agree? Take every opportunity to see him, as often as you can. People like this are rare…

You know who else is rare? Everyone! You are one of a kind, and so are your children. Take every opportunity to see/watch them do what they do. Encourage them. Tell them you love them, and how special they are. Hug them a lot. They grow up too quickly, and only come around once in a lifetime…

Isaiah 64:8   But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand.

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 2/26/16

Went to watch a Lacrosse game at Ryan’s old high school. Couldn’t help but remember back to when Ryan played. He was so little then. How I wish time could be reversed. If I had a superpower, it would be to go back in time…not to change anything, but to relive the most enjoyable moments…I wish I had that superpower…

It’s late, so I won’t go in and disturb Ryan now, but first thing in the morning I will go in and tell him just how much I miss him and how many millions of enjoyable moments he provided…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 2/25/16

Ryan and I are watching the Warriors’ game. Well, I am anyway. He’s asleep. It’s hard not to cheer every time Stephen hits a THREEEEEEEEEE! I’ll be quite, though. Orlando needs to go away…

WOOOO HOOOO!!! I just yelled out loud!!! Curry hit a threeeeeeee from half court at the buzzer!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ryan’s definitely awake now. Sorry Ryan…

So, there’s  just one better reason to shout about right now…and always, and that’s…

Psalm 47:1   O clap your hands, all peoples; Shout to God with the voice of joy!!

Some words for you young whipper-snappers (and maybe for the not-so-young) out there:

Janine and I have been married for nearly 30 years now. If you’re married, or thinking about getting married, heed this wisdom…

There are two golden rules to a happy marriage:

  1. The wife is always right.
  2. When you feel she is wrong, slap yourself and read number 1 again.
Ephesians 4:2-3   Be completely humble and gentle; Be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace.

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 2/23/16

I was so tired yesterday, that I went to bed without posting anything. Shame on me. I feel like one of Jesus’ disciples falling asleep when he was in the garden praying. Sorry about that Ryan…

He did have a good day yesterday; but we won’t dwell on the past, except to mention that his good day yesterday has carried over to today. Speaking of today; it’s hard to beat mid to upper 70’s in the middle of winter. I should’ve sat out in the sun to get some tan on this pasty white body of mine. On second thought; maybe I’ll just use spray tan and avoid the possibility of getting cancer. On third thought; I’ll just stay pasty white and wear long pants and a long-sleeve turtle neck and tell everyone I’ve got a tan underneath. Am I that vain? Not really…I could care less…

Hope you all have a wonderful night, and an even more wonderful tomorrow…

Proverbs 3:5-6   Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 2/21/16

This goes out to both my boys…

Sons, I closed my eyes for a moment and suddenly men stood where boys used to be. I may not carry you now in my arms, but I will always carry you in my heart. You have given me so many reasons to be proud of the men you have become, but the proudest moments for me are when I get to tell others that you are my sons. I love you both now and forever.

Thank you Lord for blessing me with my two sons!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 2/20/16

Ephesians 1:16-21   Ryan and I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in (our) prayers. (We) keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. (We) pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.

May the Lord bless you all as He has so richly blessed us by your presence in our lives…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 2/19/16

We thought we’d be trend setters tonight by ordering Chinese food to go from our favorite Chinese restaurant to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Turns out a million other people had the same idea. It took an hour to get my food. The upside; I did meet and talk to a lot of people while waiting.

A quote from my brilliant cousin, spoken at her son’s wedding; but if I didn’t know it, it could have been a verse from the Bible…

“The life you plan will not be the life that you have.”

Is she right, or what?
