Alone with my thought:
Why do you suppose the impact of Christ’s life has remained a vibrant topic of discussion (relevant) for 2000 plus years? Is it because people read their Bibles or tell the story every day? I doubt many do that. Since when does a single person, event or book dominate the headlines for more than a week, a year, decades or even a few hundred years…much less thousands? Most people remember what happened on 9/11/2001 every year on it’s anniversary date. But, I would say that most people don’t give it a single thought the rest of the year. And, those who were around then will remember when man first set foot on the moon. People remember the Holocaust, the rise and fall of Constantinople, the creation of the internet, the development of the Polio Vaccine, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, Hitler, Christopher Columbus, etc. etc. etc. But with the exception of Christ’s life, have any of the aforementioned events and/or people had as much impact on yours and my life?
I believe the answer to my initial question is that Christ’s life has had an impact all these years because of Him being revealed in people’s lives every moment of every day. People like Ryan, who I visit most every day. People like you. People like me. We constantly see God’s hand in our lives all the time; or at least we feel Him if we don’t actually see Him. I see Christ in many people I come into contact with on a daily basis. I see God at work in a lot of people; in their actions, in their non-actions in what they say and don’t say. I’ve seen transformed lives…including my own.
Continue to look around you and you will see God at work. You will see miracles happening. This is how Christ’s impact will live on until the day He returns.
God is alive and well…and at work. He is the same yesterday, today and He’ll still be the same tomorrow. Believe it! And, you will be saved!!
NOTE: Please don’t get distracted by my very incomplete thought. It’s missing a lot of details, but at it’s core is some truth.
