Ryan’s Miracle Watch 4/10/16

EXCITING   adjective:   creating or arousing excitement

Warriors win! Warriors win, and tie the Bulls for the best single season win record at 72! What an exciting game! I’m sure it’s pretty exciting in the Warriors’ locker room right now.

A few of us were watching the game in the family room and Ryan was listening in his room. Immediately after the game, I went in to visit him, and he was grinning from ear to ear. Seeing him smile is the most EXCITING thing to me!!

Now that the Warriors have either broken or tied almost every basketball record, it’s time for Ryan to break some records of his own. Like the Warriors, it’s gonna require patience, practice and a lot of teamwork. You and I are Ryan’s teammates, and through our support and prayers and ultimately God’s supreme awesomeness, Ryan will be victorious, just as the Warriors were tonight…

Some Saturday night humor for y’all…

Little Tony was staying with his grandmother for a few days. He’d bee playing outside with the other kids for a while when he came into the house and asked, “Grandma, What is that called when people are sleeping on top of each other?”

She was a little taken aback, but decided it would be best to tell him the truth…”It’s called sexual intercourse, darling.”

Little Tony just said, “Oh, Okay” and went back outside to talk and play with the other kids. A few minutes later he came back in and said angrily, “Grandma, it is not called sexual intercourse! It’s called Bunk Beds!”

The following is not humor, in case you were wondering…

Colossians 3:16-17   Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Please pray for my family’s safety and provision over the next couple of days, as I am out of town on business…not that they can’t take care of themselves, mind you. I guess the prayer is more for me; that I know they are being watched over…

And, May God watch over y’all tonight as you sleep!

Psalm 121:5   The LORD watches over you– the LORD is your shade at your right hand

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 4/5/16

Jacob was a cheater, Peter had a temper, David had an affair, Noah got drunk, Jonah ran from God, Paul was a murderer, Gideon was insecure, Miriam was a gossiper, Martha was a worrier, Thomas was a doubter, Sarah was impatient, Elijah was depressed, Moses stuttered, Zaccheus was short, Abraham was old and Lazarus was dead…

God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called!

So, what’s my excuse???

James 1:5   If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 4/4/16

Ryan’s sitting in the family room watching TV with Janine. Seems like he’s enjoying a couple of episodes of “Friends”, even though he’s seen every episode at least a dozen times. That’s what happens when Janine has the remote. Should I go in and rescue him? Probably not, if I want to eat the rest of the week…

Praise God for another beautiful day!…shorts weather for sure; although some people I know wear shorts all year round. My pigeon legs don’t have enough insulation on them to keep me warm, so while I can pretty much go shirtless year-round, the legs need to be covered up; if not for warmth, then to spare everyone the sight of the stick figures they are…

Hope you all have a lovely evening on purpose!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 4/3/16

Ryan’s always been a pretty humble guy; not wanting to draw any attention to himself, but making sure others have the spotlight. It’s in that vein he would like to honor his Grandpa Ray by wishing him a very happy 81st birthday! He hopes that his birthday is the best ever, and that he has a wonderful year on and with purpose!

3 John 1:2   “Dear Grandpa (friend), I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.”

Psalm 118:24   “This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Luke 15:23  “Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate.

1 Corinthians 1:4   “I always thank God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus.”

DEPRIVED   adjective:   marked by deprivation especially of the necessities of life

I know how deprived y’all feel when you miss out on one of my daily musings; which by the way are of no significant value and/or service to anyone but perhaps me and the fire poker over there in the corner. Therefore, I apologize to those who need their daily dose for yesterday’s non-post, who as a result may have been unable to go to sleep, for which I was or was not responsible. When I returned home late last night, the internet was down; or according to the message displayed on my screen, was inundated by too many people on the “Super Highway” and apparently unable to allow access to any more users. Super Highway my _____! They need to add more lanes.

So, to make up for yesterday’s lack of post, I’ll quickly recap the day’s activities…

Woke up (Praise God!), took a shower, got dressed, went in to say “good morning” to a sleeping Ryan, cleaned the garage because brother and his family were coming over, greeted said brother and his family, ate lunch, made sausage and ground beef, went to some car races, came home, attempted to get onto the internet, went to bed disappointed-but happy with the day overall.

Notice, I didn’t post any pictures of cats, food or of anyone sitting on a toilet; something I wish some FB users would take into consideration when using. Of course, after reading my posts, the same could be said about me…

Thanks for listening…

LAUGHTER   noun:   the manifestation of joy or mirth of scorn

Happy April Fools Day Everyone! I hope you all got some good laughs. They say laughter is good for the soul, and I couldn’t agree more. I like to laugh. So with that said, here’s a joke or two that will, hopefully, cause you to chuckle…

Three sisters, ages 91, 93 & 95, live together. One night, the 95 year-old draws a bath. She puts one foot in and pauses. “Was I getting in the tub or out?” she yells.

The 93 year-old hollers back, “I don’t know, I’ll come up to see.” She starts up the stairs and stops.  She shouts, “Was I going up, or going down?’

The 91 year-old is sitting at the kitchen table having tea, listening to her sisters. She shakes her head and says, “I sure hope I never get that forgetful”, and knocks on wood for good measure.

Then she yells, “I’ll come up and help both of you as soon as I see who’s at the door.”

A highway patrolman pulled alongside a speeding car on the freeway. Glancing at the car, he was astounded to see that the blonde behind the wheel was knitting!

Realizing that she was oblivious to his flashing lights and siren, the trooper cranked down his window, turned on his bullhorn and yelled, “PULL OVER!!”

“NO!”, the blonde yelled back. “IT’S A PULLOVER!”

I apologize to any officer out there who might be reading this post…

Psalm 126:2-3   Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, The Lord has done great things for them. The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.
