Ryan’s Miracle Watch 5/11/16

Sitting in the airport today waiting for my plane to take me home, I people watched…as I typically do. This time, however, was a little different in that I couldn’t help but notice how so many people looked like people I know or have known. It’s amazing! It got me to thinkin’ where we all came from, and that there is so little separation or difference between us all. In fact, we all have at least one thing in common; and that is we all need Christ in our lives. While I sat there watching, I prayed that God would touch each and every one of their lives (if he hadn’t already) just like He had touched mine…and my family’s.

I think I get that from Ryan. He has a heart for others…

Romans 9:1-4a…   I speak the truth in Christ—I am not lying, my conscience confirms it through the Holy Spirit— I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my people, those of my own race, the people of Israel.

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 5/10/16

Hope you all had a great May 10th on purpose! Ryan had a good one, considering last night he had a slight temperature. He fought through it though, and came out like the champion he is.

I’m in Anaheim next to Disneyland for business purposes (wink wink). No really, just business. While walking to dinner, I couldn’t help but notice (and I notice this all the time, so tonight wasn’t really out of the ordinary) all of the dads and moms pushing strollers with their kids. Some kids (and parents) had Mickey Mouse ears on, others sparkly twirly thingys and the like. Sometimes I wish I could go back in time and relive the moments we had with the boys. What new memories would we create? What good times would be had? That would be cool…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 5/9/16

Ryan got some new hand braces today. They’re used every couple of hours to help stretch his hands and wrists to prevent them from becoming locked into one position. Compared to the old ones, these are well-padded and therefore look a lot more comfortable. We’re all about making Ryan as comfortable as we can possibly make him. Praise God for his provision!

Right now, he and Janine are in the living room watching the movie Grease for, at least, the billionth time. Yes, that’s billion with a “B”. The things I have to put up with; writing this post while they get to watch Grease without me. I’m stopping right here and sprinting over there to watch with them! Bye for now…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 5/8/16

Ryan wants to wish the best Mom in the world the Happiest Mother’s Day! Well, at least Janine is the best mom in the world to him. That’s not to take away from any of the other wonderful moms out there, because to your children they are the best moms in the world. So, the world is full of best moms. Happy Mother’s Day to All!!

We hope your day was filled with the love of family and friends!! We consider ourselves your friends, and so we send our love out to you too!!

1 Peter 4:8a   Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 5/7/16

Ryan would like to congratulate all of his friends who graduated from college today. If he could, I know Ryan would tell them how happy and proud he is of each of them. He’s always been such an encourager, and genuinely happy for the success of others. He would have graduated with them as well, but God had other plans for him at this time. Perhaps some day…

He’s resting comfortably, and about to go to sleep for the night. Rest well my son. May God heal you this night while you sleep, I pray…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 5/6/16

I made an error in yesterday’s post. The boat that sank while carrying a load of mayonnaise was actually one of Columbus’s. I believe it was the Santa Maria. I apologize to those of you who were thrown by the error. I meant no harm…

Ryan celebrated Cinco de Mayo by listening to mariachi band music all day long…Not really! We wouldn’t subject him to that all day…only for 9 hours. We also put a sombrero on his head, hung a pinata from his lift, pumped taco fumes into his bedroom and fed him refried beans. Needless to say, the nurses have had their hands full today…

Happy Day After Sinko de Mayo everyone! That would be Seis de Mayo! Okay, now I’m just showing off…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 5/5/16

Most people don’t know that back in 1912, Hellman’s Mayonnaise was manufactured in England. In fact, the Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico, which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after it’s stop in New York. This would have been the largest single shipment of mayonnaise ever delivered to Mexico at the time. But as we know, the great ship never made it to New York. The ship hit an iceberg and sank. The people of Mexico, who were crazy about mayonnaise and eagerly awaiting its delivery, were disconsolate at the loss. Their anguish was so great that they declared a National Day of Mourning which occurs each year on May 5, and of course is known as Sinko De Mayo. What?? You expected something educational from me??

Ryan would like to wish his wonderfully beautiful cousin Amanda, a very happy birthday! Yes, she is a Sinko de Mayo baby, and she loves her Mayo. Happy Birthday Amanda! We hope it is your best birthday ever!!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 5/4/16

We can tell that Ryan really likes to get his haircut. He got one this morning, and has been so relaxed and comfortable since. Just looking at him, you could never tell that anything is wrong with him. Or, perhaps nothing is wrong with him because God has him right where He wants him…smack dab in the middle of His perfect plan.

Go out and tell someone about how God’s been so good to you…Maybe they’ll see the light through you, just as they do through Ryan…

Matthew 5:16   Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 5/3/16

A dear friend posted this on her blog today…

“From the perspective of heaven, we’ll look back on these days—these busy, cluttered days—and realize, That was Jesus playing the violin . That was Jesus wearing the ragged clothes. That was Jesus in the orphanage . . . in the jail . . . in the cardboard shanty. The person needing my help was Jesus .”

Matthew 25:40   The King will reply, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

Over the years, a great number of Ryan’s friends have come up to me and told me how Ryan reached out to them to say hello, to include them in the fun, or give them a word of encouragement. What a terrific example of this verse Ryan has been. He’s a role model to me…
