Here’s an update from Holly (my neighbor’s daughter) herself…
No new news. Infectious Diseases doc says they couldn’t pin point any specific bacteria. Even the UW lab that did advanced testing couldn’t come up with anything. But, based on my blood tests and swollen leg, the doc still thinks I have some kind of infection. So I’ll continue on IV antibiotics for another 3 weeks.
In 1 week I follow-up with my orthopedic surgeon. I imagine he’ll take my stitches out, although there’s one place where my skin hasn’t come together well – I’m still draining a bit from that spot.
In 2 weeks I see the specialist in Seattle. That’s when I expect to learn a lot.
For those of you who want to know how you can pray: First, thank you! The ability to find humor amidst all this has been a wonderful gift from God. I hope I can keep that up. Secondly, my lower leg has gotten swollen, but this time elevating it hasn’t helped. So my leg feels heavy and full (read: uncomfortable).
