Ryan’s Miracle Watch 10/31/16

Psalm 77:11-13   I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds. Your ways, God, are holy. What god is as great as our God?

If y’all don’t mine, I’m just going to soak these verses in for a while…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 10/30/16

Ryan and I cannot wait until the new episodes of Gilmore Girls debut on November 25th…NOT! Truth be told, we can wait, and hope that all of the episodes mysteriously get lost, or better yet, destroyed…

We can’t, however, wait for Christmas! Or better yet, until the Lord comes to take us to our eternal home…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 10/29/16 A Couple of Updates

The first update is about Tatyana’s father, the BATF agent. He’s off the critical list and expected to live, but still needs prayer. Thank you for continuing to pray for him…as well as his family. Praise the Lord!!
Here’s the second update from Holly’s pen to all those on ‘Team Holly’…….
Life as a monopod:
It’s been 6 weeks since my surgery. I still find myself forgetting the leg is gone and do a double take when I see myself in the full length mirror. Yesterday I picked up my right shoe and continued looking around the bed for my left shoe. It must’ve been 10 seconds before it dawned on me there was nothing to find. I’m getting around the house pretty well with the wheelchair and walker. (Last year’s broken leg gave me a lot of opportunity to get used to these.) I’ve practiced getting the wheelchair loaded into the trunk and then using the walker to get myself in the car. Although I haven’t ventured out on my own it’s nice to know I’m able to.
No chemo!
My surgeon said a few things that implied I may need chemo. I was dreading it. Monday we sat down with a medical oncologist and I was so relieved to hear that chemo is not recommended in my situation. I don’t need any further cancer treatment.
I will need quarterly scans for the next two years to watch for cancer. THAT, I can handle.

Thanks!

Thank you all for being such a great support to Jim and I through this challenging time. I know many of you have been faithfully praying for me and I am so thankful for you. I have been so blessed by your encouraging cards, emails and texts, too. My “Pre-amputation Party” filled my heart with so much joy that it carried me through the next month of my hospitalization. That was one of the most special events in my life. It is only with such a loving God and the awesome support of “Team Holly” that I can look back on all I’ve been through with a positive frame of mind.

Love, Holly Miles

And last, but certainly not least: Thank you all for continuing to pray for Ryan. He is so blessed to have such wonderful people advocating on his behalf. God is listening and still doing amazing things surrounding Ryan’s circumstance. CONTINUE TO BELIEVE!!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 10/26/16

Got all sentimental today when I saw a bunch (10-15) of school buses loaded with kids going home from school. I miss the days when my boys were in school. Their young, vibrant selves were just beginning their journeys in the world. They had no clue what was in store for their lives, and they attacked all with such vigor. Wishing I could go back in time, so I could really appreciate them for all they were…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 10/25/16

Wait! Didn’t the NBA season just end a week or so ago? It sure seems like it. Tonight, Ryan and I…and his nurse…will be watching the Warriors take on the Spurs in their NBA opener. Should be a good season with the addition of KD…as long as they stay healthy, that is. It’s always anyone’s game as long as the games are played…

The world series also started today between Cleveland and the Cubs. Someone’s Title drought is about to end…

And also in sports, the Raiders and Broncos are atop the AFC West. Ooooo Ahhhh…

I guess it’s a sports kind of update. I hope Ryan doesn’t mind…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 10/24/16

Got up early this morning and put the tarp on the roof. That should keep us dry through the winter…

Love this quote of the day:

“No. We don’t always get what we want. But consider this: There are people who will never have what you have right now.”

Hebrews 12:28-29   Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire.”

Ryan and I are watching a little Monday Night Football…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 10/23/16

It’s supposed to be a wet week here. Good thing I got a large tarp to cover the roof with, so it doesn’t leak. Bad thing, though, that I haven’t installed it yet. I think I may be a day late and a dollar short. That is, unless I go out now and put it up. With my track record, however, I’m thinking not…since it’s 9:30 at night and there’s no light to see. I don’t wear pavement well…

Speaking of pavement; I like this description of heaven…

Revelation 21:21b   …The great street of the city was of gold, as pure as transparent glass.

Now, should I fall off a roof and land on a street like that, I think I could sport a grill like that…

I think I know the reason Ryan’s been smiling a lot lately. It’s because he knows he’s in a water tight room, and we’re not…
