Ryan’s Miracle Watch 11/10/16

Ryan sat back and didn’t participate in all of the backstabbing, rhetoric, name-calling and mudslinging that went on during the presidential campaigns and eventual election. Now that it’s over, he’d like to share the following with you, in hoping that we can come together as people and move forward together, eventually creating a much better America for all…

1 Timothy 2:1-3   I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 11/9/16

Psalm 116:1-2   I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live.

None of us knows how long we have left to live on this earth, so share God’s love with as many people as you possibly can. We do, however, know how long eternity is, so sharing God’s love with others can only help them know where they can spend eternity if they choose to do so. May God soften the hearts of those you’ll be encountering next…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 11/8/16

Hey Everyone! Ryan here. I’d like to wish my amazing parents a Happy 30th Anniversary today! And, I’d also like to thank all of you for praying for me. I dream of one day being able to tell you out loud, but for now, know that I am thinking it and praying to God that He’ll make it happen. In the meantime, remember to be kind to and pray for one another. Also, pray for those who are in need of a touch from God. And, live each moment to the fullest on and with purpose!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 11/6/16

“Well, that’s a fine how do you do!” is what my Grandpa would say to us grandkids when we were little. So, tonight when Janine and I returned tonight from our extended weekend away, we walked into Ryan’s room, and he was conveniently sleeping. It was only 10:15 mind you. I couldn’t help but utter the very words my Grandpa used to say to us…

I guess Ryan forgot to turn his internal clock backwards today. Regardless, it was sure nice to see him.

1 Peter 5:6-7   Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 11/5/16

Despite our best efforts, we may come up short. Don’t get discouraged, though. God is trying to tell you something. Maybe it’s that you need to rely more on His abilities rather than our own. Don’t get me wrong. We do need to put in effort, but we need to include God’s power in the effort. Just think how much better things are when God is involved…

Tomorrow we fly home to see Ryan for the first time in a few days. It’ll be really nice to see him…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 11/4/16

Janine and I are back in Ithica, New York for friend’s of ours son’s football game tomorrow. He’s from SoCal, and a receiver on the Cornell University team. Small world too, because a young man on his team (also a receiver) is from Orinda, and is a friend of Ryan’s. Also showing up to the game tomorrow will be a few more of Ryan’s friends, also from Orinda. Wow! We fly 3000 miles across country and will be amongst several of Ryan’s friends. Not surprising…Ryan’s got a lot of friends all over the world…And, I realize many of you who are reading this are literally from all around the globe. Thank you for being an FOR…Friend of Ryan…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 11/3/16

1 John 4:9   This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.

God sent His one and only Son. Who am I to tell God He can’t use my son to help further His kingdom?

Lord, Thank you for showing me all of the wonderful things you are doing through my son Ryan to further your kingdom…

Isaiah 55:8   “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD.

Yeah, using Ryan the way God is using him would not have been my way…but I trust God.

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 11/2/16

Last night I heard what sounded like a seal barking coming from Ryan’s room. When I went in to see what was going on, I saw Ryan laughing louder than I had ever seen him laugh before. How amazing is our God!!

“I hope you didn’t take it personally, Pastor,” an embarrassed woman said after a church service, “when my husband walked out during your sermon.”

“I did find it a bit disconcerting”, the vicar replied.

“It’s not a reflection on you, Pastor” insisted the church-goer. “Christopher has been walking in his sleep ever since he was a child.”

KEEP ON LAUGHING! They say it’s good for the soul…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 11/1/16

“The happiest people don’t always have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.”

I believe Ryan is one of those people. For the most part, he’s always happy…well, maybe not right at this moment…but, even in this moment, I believe he’s making the best of the situation and communing with God.

Be happy everyone! Life’s to short to not be…
