Wow, another month gone in the year 2017! Really, where does the time go? Despite what we have gone through, both good and/or bad, we should all be thankful and grateful that God has brought us this far. Even if you can’t think of a single thing to thank God for today, at least you can thank him that you are still breathing. But, if we all just take a moment to think about it, I know several things to be thankful for will come to mind. I encourage you to take that moment…
Psalm 34:1 I will extol the Lord at all times; His praise will always be on my lips.
Lord, Thank you for my family. Amen
Psalm 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.
It’s been said that if you want to be successful, you hang around successful people; i.e. if you want to be a millionaire, you hang around millionaires, or if you want to be a good chef, you hang around other good chefs; and so on and so forth. Well, the ultimate success, or ultimate prize as I like to call it, is to be welcomed into heaven, and what better way to get there than by instructions taught by the One who’ll actually be doing the welcoming? All I need to do is follow His lead. He’ll counsel me properly, and all while loving me. What more could I ask for? I’m going to hang around God, because He’ll help me get to where I want to go…
Hebrews 13:15 Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.
Ryan had a busy weekend with visits from family and friends. He loves it when people come to visit him, even though it tires him a bit. He’s going to rest easily tonight…
Psalm 62:1-2 Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.
SMILE noun: a facial expression characterized by turning up the corners of the mouth; usually shows pleasure or amusement
It’s such a blessing to see Ryan smile. Thank you Lord!
“A smile is happiness you’ll find right under your nose.” Tom Wilson
“Nothing you wear is more important than your smile.” Connie Stevens
“Your smile sill give you a positive countenance that will make people feel comfortable around you.” Les Brown
“The real man smiles in trouble, gathers strength from distress, and grows brave by reflection.” Thomas Paine
“A warm smile is the universal language of kindness.” William Arthur Ward
“Peace begins with a smile.” Mother Teresa
Thank you for your kind smiles Ryan. We love you!!
Ryan wants to wish y’all a very happy Friday, and may your weekend be filled with good thoughts, kind people and joyous moments! May God richly bless each and every one of you!
I’m currently on a business trip looking out my hotel window at this magnificent eucalyptus tree. It’s gotta be at least 80-100 feet tall, and its bark is smooth and looks like a giant jigsaw puzzle. I tried taking a picture, but the window is dirty and it came out blurry (note to self: must tell hotel to clean their windows). God’s creation is nothing short of amazing! All anyone need do is look around to see how beautiful, and abundant, it is. The same goes for miracles. You wanna talk about amazing abundance? Miracles are everywhere…happening all the time. You think those special moments in your life that connect the dots (like puzzle pieces connecting together), and are unexplainable are coincidences? Not a chance! Really, not a CHANCE! Nor by chance. God is doing great things all around you. Look for them…Him. He will reveal Himself to you in many ways… sometimes in mysterious ways. And sometimes just plain as day.
Lord, Thank you for all of the water you’ve been sending us. We’ve sure needed it. But you already knew that, didn’t you. And, you know just how much we’ve needed. Just enough…No more. No less. Thank you for the magnificent eucalyptus tree outside my window that reminds me of your beautiful creation, your majesty, your provision…Thank you for watering it. Please water me, so I may become as majestic, strong and beautiful. Amen
When you are stressed, you eat ice cream, cake, chocolate and sweets. Why? Because stressed spelled backwards is desserts.
A few more laughs for today…
I never use my turn signal, because it’s none of anybody’s business where I’m freaking going.
If life is a journey, mine is from the fridge to my computer.
My book club only reads wine labels.
Instead of cleaning the house, I just turn off the lights.
I’ve taken up photography because it’s the only hobby where I can shoot people and cut their heads off without going to jail.
Ah! It feels good to laugh, doesn’t it?
Have a blessed evening y’all!
Psalm 94:19 When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy.
‘Nuf said for today…
Isaiah 45:8 Drip down, O heavens, from above, And let the clouds pour down righteousness; Let the earth open up and salvation bear fruit, And righteousness spring up with it. I, the LORD, have created it.
It’s raining. It’s pouring. The old man is snoring…
Wow! It’s been coming down in buckets pretty much the entire day, and isn’t supposed to let up until Wednesday. Speaking of buckets; we’ve got several strategically placed around the house catching the drips coming down through the roof. Lord willing, we’ll survive through the winter and put a new roof on in the spring. We won’t melt…
Ryan’s been resting comfortably through it all. He’s always been calm during the storms. What an excellent example he’s been to me…
Today, I hugged and kissed Ryan twice as many times as I normally do, because (as you know) I didn’t go into see him yesterday. It was sure great seeing him. Not sure he was as excited to see me, but I’m pretending he was. So, since we decreased his dose of one of his meds (ever so slightly), we’ve not noticed any side effects so far. We’ll know more in a week or so, but it looks like we may be able to take it down another notch. It’ll be nice if he can tolerate it…We’ll just have to wait and see.
Romans 12:12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
Sometimes easier said than done, but I’m trying…
