Ryan’s Miracle Watch 2/18/17

HARD   adjective:   not easy; requiring great physical or mental effort to accomplish or comprehend or endure

It’s HARD to not go in and see Ryan on any given day. I want to treat him like I would any other child/young adult of mine, and give him privacy/respect his space every once in a while, so I didn’t go in to see him today. How many of you know a kid that wants to see their parents every day? I’ll go in and see him tomorrow and apologize for not seeing him today…and will tell him “I love him” twice as many times as I usually do…

James 1:2-4   Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

I believe in God. Not because my parents told me to. Not because my church told me to. But, because I’ve experienced His presence and workings in my life and how awesome He is.

Open your heart and let God…

You’ll be amazed at what awesome workings He’ll do in and around your lives…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 2/16/17

So, it’s a couple of days after Valentine’s. Has the love worn off yet? NOPE!

John 3:16   For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life.

Sitting here with Ryan tonight in the quiet of his room. Listening to him breathe is pretty soothing. I think moms can probably relate when they listen to their babies sleeping…huh?

QUIET   noun:   the absence of sound; stillness; a disposition free from stress or emotion; an untroubled state; free from disturbances

I like to listen for God in quiet moments.

Psalm 46:10a   He says, “Be still, and know that I am God…

Can you hear him? Are you even listening?

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 2/15/17

I want a closed casket funeral. But, toward the end, have the organist play “Pop Goes The Weasel” until everyone is staring at my coffin…in silent, horrified anticipation…

So, another barrage of storms is supposed to pass through the Bay Area the next couple of days, and into next week. Please pray for those who don’t have shelter from the storms…

Psalm 10:17   “O LORD, you hear the desire of the afflicted; you will strengthen their heart; you will incline your ear.”

Psalm 27:5   For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.

Happy Valentine’s Day! Or, for those of you unfortunate enough to be 49er fans…Happy 2-14! Oh come on now, you have to admit that was funny!

Ryan laughed…

This is a picture of Ryan actually laughing. I was fortunate enough to capture it on my phone’s camera. It’s too bad I didn’t think to capture it on video, because it’s really quite remarkable to see/hear. Perhaps next time. I’ll take it for now, though…

Thank you Lord!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 2/13/17

Ryan and I are watching the Warriors game against Denver, in Denver (the game is in Denver, not Ryan and I). End of first quarter and the dubs are down by a dozen. Denver is hitting every three pointer they take, and the Warriors are struggling to make any. The Warriors have gotta be tired, this being their third game in four nights; and especially after having played two emotional games against Memphis and OKC. I’m thinking about switching the channel to Cupcake Wars, but don’t think Ryan will let me do it, although I’d like to see him try. Really, I’d like to see him try…

Mmmmm cupcakes…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 2/12/17

It was a bit cold outside today, so I didn’t take Ryan out. I don’t think he minded, but I do. Hopefully, it’ll warm up a bit over the next few days, so I can get him up and about…

John 1:16   Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given.

And He just keeps on giving. Thank you Lord!

Another great FB post by Stacie…

“I have CDO. It’s like OCD, but the letters are in alphabetical order; AS THEY SHOULD BE.”

Today was nice and sunny. After days on end of rain, it was a welcome relief. I hear there’s more sunshine in the immediate forecast. I’ll have to take Ryan outside for a stroll tomorrow. It’ll be nice for him to get out and about. He’s been cooped up in his room for so long. Hopefully, it won’t be too cold…

John 1:16   Out of His fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given.

Luke 21:6   Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.

1 Thessalonians 5:2   …for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

1 Corinthians 15:52   in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.

Psalm 27:4   One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
and to seek him in his temple.

1 John 5:13-14    I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

John 3:16

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 2/9/17

Ryan and I are sitting here debating a topic that has bothered us for quite some time; If you eat a few pounds of thin mints or wheat thins or slim jims, or drink a few gallons of skim milk, do you get fatter or skinnier? And, if you weigh 650 pounds, does wearing skinny jeans make you look thinner?

Yep! That’s what Ryan and I do when we’re together; try and solve the most baffling mysteries…

Ephesians 3:8-9   Although I am less than the least of all the Lord’s people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the boundless riches of Christ, and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things.
