Ryan’s Miracle Watch 3/23/17

Isaiah 41:10   Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Matthew 19:26   But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Hebrews 12:1-3   Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.

2 Corinthians 4:1   Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not lose heart.

When we built Ryan’s room, we made sure to put in as many windows as possible in order for him to take advantage of viewing God’s magnificent creation on display; like this picture taken just moments ago. It’s a shame he’s been asleep for the past few hours, and hasn’t looked outside at it…ha ha. He does what he wants, when he wants. But hey, that’s why I took the picture. I’ll show it to him later…

2 Corinthians 4:16   So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.

Be sure to take as many pictures/videos as you can, because the special moments will pass you by all too quickly. Those moments are really a blessing to look back and reflect upon. The pictures of my kids growing up, as well as those of other family and friends, make me smile hugely (yes, it is a word now)…

“An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. When life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means it’s going to launch you into something great. so just focus, and keep aiming.”

Colossians 3:23-24   Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

Aim high!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 3/25/17

Ryan’s got nice nurses to watch over him, and the one tonight is one of the nicest. She’ll be watching all through the night and until 7 tomorrow morning. But even so, I know the Lord is watching over him, just as he is also watching over the rest of us.

Psalm 3:5   I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me.

Sleep well y’all, knowing the Lord sustains us…ZZZzzz

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 3/24/17

Ryan and I will be left home alone (yes, again) for a few days, because his mother is going on a business trip. PARTY TIME!!

I love the following post on FB tonight…

“On Friday nights, I like to welcome the weekend by making questionable food decisions, marathoning TV shows, and wearing clothes that are frowned upon in polite company.”

Everyone enjoy your weekend on and with purpose!!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 3/23/17

Ryan’s proud of his little brother for getting accepted to a couple of different colleges. He’s still waiting for more letters of acceptance before making his decision, but this is a good start…Way to go Jacob!

It’s been a very quiet evening hanging out with Ryan. He’s such a joy to spend time with. It’ll be even more joyful when he’s able to converse out loud. Right now, his communication is through body language…Oh! And through his eyes. His eyes say a lot…

Matthew 6:22   The eye is the lamp of the body; so then if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light.

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 3/22/17

Peaked in on Ryan today, and he was just chillin’ par usual. I sure do miss his active self…

I will never give up praying for his recovery…

Galatians 6:9   And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Luke 1:37   For nothing will be impossible with God.

Job 23:10   But he knows the way that I take; when he has tried me, I shall come out as gold.

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 3/21/17

James 4:10   Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

Matthew 25:35-45   For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’ “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

“He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

Thank you all for the sacrifices you’ve made over the past 5+ years to take time and pray for Ryan. Whatever you’ve done for him, you did for the Lord. May God Richly Bless You All!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 3/20/17

So, y’all know what it’s like to have a problem with your car, and when you take it to the mechanic to check it out everything works fine, right? And, you also know we’ve been trying for some time to get a Tobii Dynavox (eye tracking machine) for Ryan to try and communicate with him. Well, the agency we are trying to get to assist with the payment of this device wants Ryan to get an examination to determine whether or not he is capable of using the machine…which is reasonable to ask. So, we were able to borrow and use the device a while back, and Ryan tracked nicely; meaning he could follow a bouncing ball across a screen a high percentage of the time.

So today, Janine takes him to the doctor for an examination to determine his ability to track, and he wouldn’t participate to help his cause any. He wouldn’t even look at Janine, which he does almost always. Talk about Murphy’s Law…or the mechanic’s curse…As a consolation prize, the doctor gave us some exercise tips to work with him, so he can try again down the road. Ryan likes a challenge, so we think he’ll be up for participating with us. Let’s just hope the next time we take him in for an examination, he participates in front of the doctor…

Please pray that he will…Thank you!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 3/19/17

God is answering our prayers. He may not be answering them the way we expect, however. But, that doesn’t mean we stop praying. So, please continue to pray that God’s will be done for Ryan, because I know God is answering those prayers…

1 Peter 4:12   “Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.”
