Ryan’s Miracle Watch 4/30/17

Missed a post yesterday due to being tired. Yes, tired. Worked out in the morning (with a slightly sprained ankle), got a little too much sun, took some allergy medicine that made me drowsy (I don’t take medicine very often, so when I do, it tends to work), ate too little (or much depending on your perspective) and yeah, just went to bed without posting. It wasn’t like I didn’t think about it, because I did, but still couldn’t muster up enough strength to pull it off…Oh well, y’all know you didn’t miss anything…

So, I went a little easier on my body today. After all, I’m not getting any younger, and I’ve learned to listen to my body…I listen, but don’t always obey. It’s getting a lot warmer with summer just around the corner. I noticed Ryan’s room was a bit on the warm side, so it’s time to make sure his air-conditioning unit is good to go. I’ll do it tomorrow. For now, I’m going to listen to my body and chillax for a spell…

Hope y’all are enjoying the weekend on and with purpose! We are…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 4/28/17

Beautiful weather today. Not too hot…not too cold. Just right. Ryan seemed to enjoy it…

Fear has two meanings:

“Forget everything and run” OR “Face everything and rise”. It’s your choice…

Psalm 23:4   Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Things are about to heat up around here. Next week’s weather forecast is showing upper 80’s – low 90’s. Sure is a far cry from the mid-60’s and drizzle we had today. Summer is a commin’.

The oldest computer can be traced back to Adam and Eve. Surprise! Surprise! It was an apple, but with extremely limited memory. Just 1 byte. Then everything crashed!

Ryan had an excellent day today…for his standards. He looks good and has a pleasant demeanor. He almost always has a pleasant demeanor. I love that kid!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 4/25/17

The eagle does not fight the snake on the ground. It picks it up, flies into the sky, changing the battleground. It then releases the snake in the air allowing it to free fall. While gravity does its thing, the snake has no stamina, no power and no balance. It is useless, weak and vulnerable unlike on the ground where it is powerful, smart and deadly. Take your fight up into the spiritual realm by praying, and when you’re in the spiritual realm God takes over your battles. The enemy becomes useless, weak and vulnerable. Don’t fight the enemy in his comfort zone. Change your battleground like the eagle and let God take charge through your prayer….Unknown Author

Thank you all for praying for Ryan. Through your prayers and Ryan’s circumstance, God is defeating the enemy…

Isaiah 40:31   …but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Deuteronomy 20:4   …for the Lord your God is he who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.

At the end of the first half of play between the Warriors and Trailblazers, Ryan is making a bold prediction that the Warriors will win the game and sweep the first round. I’m still on the fence per usual. Ryan’s always been a lot bolder than me…

Quote of the day: “I just saw some idiot at the gym put a water bottle in the Pringles holder on the treadmill.” Ba da bum…

And now for the second half…Go Warriors!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 4/23/17

What a beautiful day it was today. Not too hot. Not too cold. But just right. Spent a great deal of it outdoors; mostly cleaning the waterfall and planting stuff in the garden. When we added onto the house for Ryan’s wing, I had the contractor build a waterfall. I also had the terrace part of the backyard so I could plant vegetables, etc. I remembered when Ryan was at George Mark, there was a waterfall outside that was soothing to sit by. And, there was a large garden where the chef got a lot of fresh vegetables for the day’s lunch/dinner. There’s nothing like fresh vegetables. There’s a lot of George Mark influence in Ryan’s wing and it’s surroundings. George Mark Children’s House was a pleasant place to stay during a difficult time, and we wanted to be reminded of just how blessed we were to have been able to stay there. God’s provision is amazing!

Warriors win!! Went into Ryan’s room at the end of the third quarter, and the nurse didn’t even have the game on for him. I changed that…

Ryan and I will be saying prayers for Janine this week as she travels to Korea (South, not North) for work. We’ll also be doing what us guys always do while she’s away…partay!! Not really. We’re pretty subdued…at least that’s what we tell her. Anyway, we will miss her…

Thanks for keeping Ryan in your prayers. They’ve helped sustain him this long, and we’re hoping they’ll help sustain him for many years to come…and that they will encourage God to heal him soon…

Some Friday Night Funnies for your listening pleasure…

My goal for the first quarter of this year was to lose 10 pounds. Only 15 more to go…

Ate salad for dinner! Mostly croutons and tomatoes. Really just one big, round crouton covered with tomato sauce. And cheese. Fine, it was a pizza. I ate a pizza!

How to make TOFU: A – Throw it in the trash. B – Grill some meat.

I don’t mean to brag, but I finished my 14-day diet in 3 hours and 20 minutes.

A recent study has found that women who carry a little extra weight live longer than men who mention it.

Kids today don’t know how easy they have it. When I was young, I had to walk nine feet through shag carpet to change the TV channel.

Senility has been a smooth transition for me…

Happy Friday Everyone!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 4/20/17

I just watched a couple of videos of Ryan being silly. They’re actually posted on this site in the Media section. I love watching them, and yet at the same time I have a hard time watching them…Does that make sense? Oh how I wish he could make silly videos again. Perhaps someday…soon, I hope…

Now I have the pleasure of going in to watch him for the night. We’ll be praying for y’all…
