Ryan’s Miracle Watch 6/28/17

Report from Ryan’s Grandma Susan…

Ryan is doing really well.  Last night while I was watching him, we had the Giants game on.  I told him we would watch the A’s the next time they were on, but I told him he could laugh if the Giants lost and he started smiling.  He was doing a lot of smiling and laughing last night.  He was wide awake until 11:00.  I checked this morning and he slept the rest of the night.
Lord, Thank you for the smiles and laughter. Please heal my son soon. Thank you. Amen

Family Feud funnies…

Q: “Name a word that follows the word pork.”

A: “Cupine.”

Quote of the Day: “When people tell me “”I’m going to regret that in the morning””, I sleep in until noon because I’m a problem solver.”

It’s good to laugh…

Genesis 21:6  (Bret) then said, “God has given me cause to laugh, and all who hear of it will laugh with me.

Or at me…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 6/26/17

Internet was extremely slow last night, so I did not post. The extra sleep was much appreciated…sorry to rub it in Shawna…If it makes you feel any better, we had to take a cold shower this morning because the place we stayed ran out of hot water…DOH!

Ryan has been doing well. We keep tabs on him through his great (meaning wonderful, not old) grandparents who are staying with him. We hope it’s cooler there now than it was. It’s been raining most of the time here, but not too cold.

Did y’all know that curling originated in Scotland? And, most of the blue granite stones come from Ailsa Craig. Sometimes I’m not too sure about my heritage… the things we come up with…Again, DOH!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 6/24/17

Thought Ryan might like to see some of God’s beautiful creation/s I have seen while on vacation in Scotland.

NOTE: I didn’t say creatures. And, I did say beautiful.

Here’s another picture of His creation for good measure…

We love you Ryan, and wish you were here with us!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 6/23/17

Posted on FB: “I wish Noah had swatted those mosquitoes.”

I’ve been attacked by mosquitoes in Boston and smidges in Scotland despite taking Vitamin B and dredging myself in OFF. Perhaps I didn’t take the correct number Vitamin B. Is it 6, 12, 11, 28? How many B’s are there? Don’t think it matters, because they just like me I guess…

Ryan must be doing well, because we haven’t heard lately how he’s doing. I guess no news is good news. Must be all of the prayers we’re all sending up for him. Oh, and most importantly, God’s hands upon him…

Thank you ALL! xoxo

Ryan’s Miracle Watch Holly Update 6/22/17

Recently, I asked my neighbor Gretchen about her daughter Holly’s condition. Here is her reply:

“HOLLY IS HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL AND IN THE CARE OF HOSPICE. PAIN IS A PROBLEM. THEY GAVE HER A SERIES OF 3 MORE  RADIATIONS AND PUT A PERMANENT DRAIN IN HER LUNG SO SHE CAN BREATHE BETTER.
SHE MAINTAINS HER FAITH AND EVEN HER SENSE OF HUMOR. WHEN I SENT HER II CORINTHIANS 5:1 “NOW WE KNOW THAT IF THE EARTHLY TENT WE LIVE IN IS DESTROYED, WE HAVE A BUILDING FROM GOD, AN ETERNAL HOUSE IN HEAVEN NOT BUILT BY HUMAN HANDS”; SHE REPLIES THAT THE HOSPITAL HAS JUST TWO SIZES OF HOSPITAL GOWNS, TEENY TINY ITSY BITSY 90 POUNDS SOAKING WET OR FAMILY OF 6 TENT.”
That’s Holly for you. What a wonderful example of joy from a saint saved by God’s loving grace. Please continue to pray for a miracle for Holly, and for God’s peace and comforting love to engulf her and her entire family.
If only I had half of Holly’s faith and outlook…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 6/21/17

Today is the first day in a few I’ve been awake enough to post something for Ryan. This vacation has been a whirlwind of goings-on. First Boston for my niece’s graduation party, then on to Scotland to roam the hills of the motherland. Oh! And, Jacob and I played golf next to Royal Troon at Troon Links. It’s part of the golf complex, without all of the snobbery. Par usual, I stunk. No, really. I stunk. Still do, because these people over here don’t believe in wash cloths, and I need a wash cloth to get completely clean. I didn’t play golf very well either. It’s a good thing I’m not trying to make a living at it, because I’d be even more broke than I am now…

This is Jacob standing in front of Buchanan castle in Scotland. As you can see, he’s never without some sort of sporting equipment.

Anyway, I hear they’re having quite the heat wave back home. Sure hope his air-conditioning unit and back up generator continue to work when they need to. It wouldn’t be a good thing to be without cool air and/or power during the heatwave…or any other time for that matter. Please pray that all stays working as we are away.

I miss my boy, and wish he could be here with us, and although I’m enjoying this vacation, I can’t wait to get home to see him and tell him all about this adventure.

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 6/16/17

Day 2: Toured Boston with the men…no women allowed. So what did we do? Walked along the Freedom Trail, ate, visited Paul Revere’s house, ate some more, walked amongst the dead (old graveyards) and wait for it……….rode the merry-go-round. That’s right folks! We rode the merry-go-round. Hey, why not? YOLO…

That’s right, again! YOLO OETI (On Earth, That Is)

So, make sure and enjoy the moments. Cherish them. Embrace them. And, don’t forget to tell someone about Jesus!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 6/15/17

We’re in Boston. First leg of the trip down. Wish Ryan was here?

A HUGE THANK YOU to his Grandma & Papa for watching over him (and the house) while we’re gone. Please pray that Ryan will cooperate completely (no incidents) and that they’ll enjoy the experience. Actually, I know he and they will…

I’ll take some pictures of our vacation and post so Ryan can see what we’re up to…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 6/14/17

I have mixed feelings about leaving on vacation tomorrow. We’re going to Boston, Scotland and England. It should be fun, but I will miss Ryan terribly. We’ve made all the arrangements for his care while we are away, but I’ll still be thinking about him. It’s like being a business owner. You can leave your business behind physically, but mentally you are still engaged. I’m sure all you business owners out there can relate. This, however, is much more than a business, if you get my drift…

Anyway, God says not to worry, and I really am not worried. After all, eternity awaits those whose trust is in the Lord. And as for me and my house, ours is!

PS-I’m bringing my laptop with me, and hope to keep this journal for Ryan going. I think they have internet overseas…
