Ryan’s Miracle Watch 6/13/17

Ryan’s doing well. Why wouldn’t he be doing well? After all, his Warriors won their second championship in the last three years. Well, they’re not actually his Warriors. He doesn’t own them…but he does cheer them on, so we’ll go with that instead. Is that alright with y’all? Anyway, it’s good to be able to cheer for something. I’m cheering Ryan on as hard as I’ve ever cheered anyone or anything on before. Here’s something else to cheer about; and it’s even better than cheering on, well anything…

1 Peter 1:3-6   Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.

Ryan’s Miracle Warriors! 6/12/17

AMAZING   adjective:   inspiring awe or admiration or wonder

Oops! I meant “Watch”, but typed Warriors. I couldn’t watch the game in real time, because I was too disgusted by the lack of discipline and the refs in the first several minutes of the first quarter, so I recorded the game and watched other things with Ryan. After the game, knowing the Warriors had already won, Ryan and I watched the playback in a very relaxed mode. Congrats to a really great basketball team! Thanks for an amazing season.

You wanna know something else? We’re also relaxed as we wait for our Lord to return, knowing in the end (of which there is no) He’s won, and we’re going to heaven. Now, that’s the true meaning of amazing!

Deuteronomy 10:17a   For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God…

Isaiah 25:9   In that day they will say, “Surely this is our God; we trusted in him, and he saved us. This is the LORD, we trusted in him; let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation.”

Heaven is real! Can’t wait for the Lord to come and take us there…

No more death. No more pain. No more tears. No more bad stuff, period. Just good stuff…

What a day of rejoicing that will be!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 6/9/17

We went to a graduation (niece’s high school in Mt. Shasta) and after-party last night and got home too late to write anything about Ryan. He’s doing well. His blood tests came back with nothing but good news. Everything looks to be back to normal, and we’re hoping we can keep him out of the hospital for…ever would be nice.

Here are a couple of funnies to get you through the day:

“Brain Cells, Hair Cells and Skin Cells – They all die constantly, but freaking fat cells seem to have eternal life!”

“Just burned 2000 calories. That’s the last time I leave brownies in the oven while I nap.”

Happy Saturday Y’all!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 6/8/17

It’s been a bit of a blustery day. Had a little rain this morning, and overcast for most of the day. Took Ryan to get his blood drawn for follow-up testing after the stunt (Or is it stint? I know he had a stint put in. The English language confuses me.) he pulled a couple of weeks ago. He seems to be doing well, and we’re sure the blood tests will confirm just that. Right now, we’re hanging out in his room with the windows open, and although there’s a bit of a chill in the air, it feels great! And, Ryan looks great! All praise be to God for his grace upon our lives; and especially for providing squirrels for stew…

Hope you all have sweet dreams and an incredible Friday!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 6/7/17

STEAL   verb:   take without the owner’s consent

What the Warriors did in game three of the NBA finals. They stole game 3! WARRIORS!!

Ryan, his nurse, Jacob, his friends and I loved the game. That’s what happens when you play up until the last buzzer sounds.

Acts 20:24 – But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

Point is: FINISH WELL!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 6/6/17

Ryan would like to congratulate his cousins Brooke and Christine on their graduations from the high schools! Both are truly amazing young ladies who have a lot to offer, and will go on to do many wonderful things. We love them both and wish them the very best for their futures…

Ryan smiled today when I mentioned his cousin’s graduations. I know in my heart that Ryan can understand things, and hope and pray that one day he’ll be able to express himself even more…and more consistently. Thank you all for praying along with me…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 6/5/17

What’s more important, trying to recover from a tough days work and workout by watching something on TV that can be watched later, OR putting your body through more torture by going to retrieve Lacrosse balls for your son as he hones his shooting skills? The answer is pretty obvious Captain O! Try to never pass up an opportunity to bond with your children (or anyone of importance)…even if it means you may never walk again…

Watching Jacob practice his Lacrosse skills brought back fond memories of watching Ryan practicing his back in high school. Oh, and the games! I miss those…Perhaps some day again…

Romans 8:37-39   No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

There’s hope…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 6/4/17

Woo hoo! Chalk up another win for the Warriors! I’m sure you heard us cheering (more like yelling and screaming) them on throughout the game. Sorry about that! Note to self: Make sure to cheer more for what God’s doing in our lives. After all, it’s of way more significance than any basketball game; or anything else for that matter…

I know Ryan is enjoying watching them win. We made sure he was sporting his Warriors gear and the Warriors balloons from his birthday (yesterday) were front and center in his room.

Now, they just need to win two more to win the championship!

NOTE: Please forgive me. I know you all know this stuff. My purpose for writing it down is so that Ryan can have a journal of what was/is happening while he was sleeping.

Numbers 6:24-26   The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.
