Many who know me, think I am incapable of telling a short story. Well, here goes…

As of this morning, I am Ryan’s full-time M-F day nurse. I’m truly blessed and honored to be able to care for my son.

How’s that for short?

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 7/28/17

I shoulda put more thought into Ryan’s room when we had it built. Washing all those windows and screens this morning wore me out. Needless to say, I’ll be down and out this next week on a much-needed recovery break…Wake me sometime next month…

Speaking of Ryan…The young man had an excellent day today, despite having the hiccups again. He gets over them relatively quickly…each episode lasts about an hour and a half…Oops! Did I say relatively quickly? That’s not any kind of quickly. How annoying it must be for him. I know how annoying hiccups are for me, and mine only last once or twice (literally)…I have the perfect remedy for when I get the hiccups…Seriously…I’ll tell y’all, but it’ll cost you…

What happens tomorrow is not promised (Proverbs 27:1), so make sure you hug your kids, loved one/s, friend or anybody that looks like they could use a hug. You’ll not only make their day, but I guarantee you’ll benefit as well…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 7/27/17

I’m watching Ryan tonight. He’s got the hiccups. Tried scaring him, but he’s used to this ugly man’s face. Poor guy…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 7/26/17

Ryan is happy that his brother returned from his trip to Europe yesterday, and glad to hear he had a wonderful time. Jake’s mom and dad are also happy he’s home.

Ryan’s also happy that approval came from his neurologist that one of his anti-seizure meds could be further reduced. Hopefully there will be no negative reaction to this reduction, and it can be reduced even further; and the eventual elimination of yet another drug.

Please pray that we can continue to reduce Ryan’s meds without negatively affecting/harming him, and that God will eventually heal him completely. Wouldn’t that be awesome?

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 7/25/17

I asked God to take away my habit. God said, “No. It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up.” I asked God to make my handicapped child whole. God said, “No. His spirit is whole. His body is only temporary.” I asked God to grant me patience. God said, “No. Patience is a byproduct of tribulations. It isn’t granted. It is learned.” I asked God to give me happiness. God said, “No. I give you blessings. Happiness is up to you.” I asked God to spare me pain. God said, “No. Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me.” I asked God to make my spirit grow. God said, “No. You must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful.” I asked God for all things that I might enjoy life. God said, “No. I will give you life, so that you may enjoy all things.” I asked God to love others as much as He loves me. God said, “Ahhh. Finally you have the idea.”

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 7/24/17

“A bad attitude is like a flat tire. If you don’t change it, you’re not going anywhere fast, if at all.”

Ryan and I are hanging out enjoying the cool breeze of the evening. One thing about living where we do, is it can be scorching hot during the day, but it typically cools down at night. With a little ingenuity (opening windows and the strategic placing of fans), the house cools down quickly and we sleep comfortably.

The birds are out in force tonight enjoying their food, consisting of red nectar for the hummingbirds and seeds for the scrub jays, finches and whatever those other kind are. I need to get the bird book my mom got for Ryan, so we can identify those other kind. I’ll have to snap a picture soon to show you what’s going on outside Ryan’s window…

I hope y’all enjoy a restful night’s sleep. I know we will…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 7/23/17

Please pray for my neighbor Gretchen, as she has flown to Washington to be with the rest of her family to celebrate the life of her daughter Holly. We know that Holly is with the Lord, and so does Gretchen and the rest of the family. I would pray, however, that any who does not know the Lord would experience His love, grace and compassion in the midst of those who do. Gretchen is such a wonderful woman of God, but she is human, so I pray an extra dose of God’s comfort upon her during this time.

I’m hoping to hear from Ryan’s doctor in the next couple of days about reducing another dose of his medicine. I’ll let y’all know what the Dr. says. In the meantime, Ryan’s been doing well.

Ryan would also like us to pray for his brother Jacob, who begins his journey back from Europe tomorrow. Tomorrow he flies from Madrid to London. Then on Tuesday, he’ll fly from London to Oakland.

Lord, Please grant Jacob safe passage home. And, please heal Ryan. Thank you. Amen

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 7/22/17

Revelation 21:4-7    ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.
