Ryan’s Miracle Watch 10/31/17

PPPUUUMMMPPPKKKIIINNN PPPIIIEEE sounds good to me right now. Won’t be too long before the smell of it is wafting through our house and we’re giving thanks. Oh wait! Giving thanks is a daily occurrence, or should be anyway. Thank you Lord for ALL the blessings you’ve bestowed upon us! And, thank you for another great day with Ryan. Thank you that all his vitals are normal and that he’s comfortable…at least he appears to be. Please give him a good night’s sleep, so he wakes up tomorrow refreshed and ready for another great day. And please, if it be Your will, heal him completely. It sure would be nice to throw a football around with him…

I love this time of year!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 10/30/17

Ryan was smiling a great deal throughout the Warriors beat down of the Clippers tonight. It’s always great to see his smile. They, his smiles, come quite often these days…especially when his mother stops in to see him. He loves his mother, as do most children…

Posted on FB today: Don’t pray to God for an easy life, but instead pray for the strength to be able to accept, handle and conquer anything that comes your way.

Philippians 4:13   I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

Lord, Please give us strength. Amen

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 10/29/17

About a year ago, I started hanging pictures on a wall in our house; pictures that make smile. It’s called my “Smiling Wall”, for lack of a better title. Please forgive the crookedness of the frames. We just did some dusting, and I haven’t yet leveled them all out. This next picture is a close up of one that’s closest to where I’m now seated, and is one of my favorites. It’s interesting/cool how pictures really capture the essence of each subject…

That’s Ryan on the right, Jacob in the middle, and their cousin Brooke holding up her ice cream cone. Needless to say, she had a sugar high for a month after downing that monstrosity…

Let the new week begin! Off to watch Ryan at 11 and will end at 3 P.M. on Friday.

A line from the new Blade Runner 2049 movie: “Pain reminds you the joy you felt was real.”

Contemplate that for a while.

I didn’t understand much of the rest of the movie…I’m just not that smart…

Psalm 34:18   The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Psalm 147:3   He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

Psalm 21:4   He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.

Jeremiah 29:11   “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

BTW: Ryan looked good today. I sure do love that kid…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 10/27/17

This week went by so quickly. You know what they say…time flies when you’re having fun. It was fun watching Ryan this week, and I don’t know what I’m going to do with a day-plus off. Oh wait! I do know. SLEEP…

I really do love my job…if you can call it that. After all, it’s simply watching over my child…and what a joy it is! Thank you Lord for allowing me the honor and privilege of watching over one of your own…

Psalm 5:11   But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 10/26/17

Watched a video one of my friends posted of some “special need” adults she works with who were dancing outdoors to the music of a live band. Each one of them were the very essence of the following quote:

Sing like no one is listening.
Love like you’ve never been hurt.
Dance like nobody’s watching,
and live like it’s heaven on earth.

How wonderful it would be if EVERYONE on this planet (and whatever other ones might be out there) lived like these young adults live…

May God Bless Each of You Beyond Measure! He has us…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 10/25/17

It’s the 25th of October! Do you know what that means? It means it’s the 25th of October. Oh yeah, and also that Christmas is just two short months away. Yipee!

Did y’all see the 2nd game of the World Series today? I typically don’t watch baseball on TV. It moves too slowly and to me is boring (for those of you that love baseball, please don’t hate me). In fact, if I hadn’t stumbled onto it by accident in the top of the tenth, I wouldn’t have watched a game (or any portion thereof) all season. I’m happy I didn’t turn the channel, because the back and forth over the 10th and 11th innings was exciting. Neither team gave up; effort and/or hope. They both fought ’til the end. What an amazing game!

This is exactly how we feel about Ryan. We’ll never give up hope that he’ll be healed while on this earth, and will continue to pray for the same. Now, wouldn’t that be amazing?!?!?

Mark 9:23   “If you can?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”

“I don’t always pass slow drivers, but when I do I check to see if they look as stupid as they drive.” Quote from the most interesting man in the world

FALL   noun:   a lapse into sin; a loss of innocence or of chastity; a movement downward; a sudden decline in strength or number or importance

It was a beautiful day today; in the upper 80’s. They call it Indian summer. Fall is the best time of year…to me anyway. And, while I enjoy Indian summer, I much prefer the bulk essence of fall; the chill in the air, the smell of smoke in the air from nearby fireplaces (although we aren’t allowed to build fires in our fireplaces anymore), leaves turning colors, football, etc. I wonder why they call it fall? Most would consider the word “fall” to have negative connotation, such as those mentioned above. But, I much prefer the definition of the word that describes my favorite season…

FALL   noun:   the season when the leaves fall from the trees

It sure makes me feel better…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 10/23/17

Just spent the last 15 minutes searching for my phone in Ryan’s room, while using my phone as a flashlight.

I enjoy spending time with Ryan, and especially when trying to figure out what he responds positively to. Both he and I love music, so we listen to a lot of it during the day…and to different artists and kinds of music. We’re currently listening to/watching a Jazz History Documentary by Ken Burns, and I like to watch/study Ryan’s demeanor when different artists play (Benny Goodman, Louis Armstrong, Chic Webb, etc.). He really perks up when Louis Armstrong plays and sings. Most people do, I suppose. I’m saving my pennies to purchase a music writing computer program so Ryan and I can start making music of our own. Can’t wait…

LOVE   verb:   be enamored or in love with; have a great affection or liking for

1 Corinthians 13:4-8  Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

LOVE…
