Today, Ryan and I are making our way through the book of Psalm. Here is one passage that stood out to us…
Psalm 20:6-7 Now this I know: The Lord gives victory to his anointed. He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of his right hand. Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
Today, we trust in the name of the Lord our God!
I had the honor and privilege of watching Ryan today because Janine was sick. Please pray for her; that God will relieve her symptoms quickly from what appears to be the flu. Thank you.
Ryan had an excellent day, topped off by a Warriors win. What else could we ask for? Well, a lot really, but we’ll take whatever victories God grants us…and we’ll enthusiastically praise Him for any and all!
It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood, and Ryan enjoyed spending time with his mother, even though he was forced to watch the royal wedding with her. I don’t get the big deal about the royal wedding. Isn’t it like watching every movie on the Hallmark channel?
Needless to say, I’m sure along with every Hallmark movie ever made, the royal wedding will remain on our DVR for years to come so someone, who will remain nameless, can watch it over and over and over and over and…in between endless episodes of Seinfeld and Gilmore Girls…
As for Ryan and I, we can’t wait for the Warriors to play again. Right Ryan?
Ephesians 4:2-3 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
Happy Royal Wedding Weekend Everyone!
I sincerely apologize for not posting anything last night. I wanted to get to bed early so I could watch the royal wedding this morning…NOT!!
I just love it when I talk to Ryan, and he turns his eyes directly towards mine. There is something there. I know there is. Now, Lord please give him a way to communicate his thoughts to me/us…
Ryan and I finished the book of Job today, and are several chapters into the book of Psalms…We don’t always know what’s going on behind the scenes; the spiritual battles that are going on in Heaven. Like I said yesterday, know deep in the depths of your souls that God is in control, and He has our best interests in mind. Oh how He loves you and me!
Today, Ryan and I read half way through the book of Job (I’ve read the book many times). Job has always been one of my favorite people in the Bible. In a nutshell, he had everything (family, wealth, health, etc.), and God allowed Satan to take it all away. But, because of his steadfast respect and love for God, God restored all he had and much more.
No matter what God allows Satan to throw at us, let’s know in the depths of our souls, God is in control, and He will restore all and more to us. Our lives on earth may not be easy, and quite frankly may be outright disastrous, but in the end, of which there really isn’t one, we must picture ourselves in Heaven; living gloriously and victoriously with our Heavenly Father…
Sweet dreams y’all…
A few funnies to get us through the rest of the week:
When the boys were young, Janine and I couldn’t afford to take them to Sea World. So, we took them to the fish market and said “Shhhh, they’re sleeping.”
I really need to get into shape before I turn 60, because today I realized that if I got murdered, my chalk outline would be a circle.
I recently posted a couple of times about my exceptional culinary skills. Well, truth be told, I’m told I only need to bring paper towels to any of our family gatherings.
Did you know that on Mercury, one day lasts about 1408 hours? The same as one Monday on earth.
I asked God, “Why do you continue to bless me?” He replied, “So you can continue to bless those around you.”
Ryan had a good day today. And, we praise God for that!
Warriors win game one against Houston! It was over half way through the 4th quarter…
You know that feeling of relief and calm you get when you know your team is on the verge of winning; when there’s a few minutes left, your up by a ton, and there’s no doubt in your mind the victory is in the bag? I hope you do, because it’s the same feeling you get from knowing for certain God’s in control and you’re going to heaven. The victory is in the bag!
Hebrews 6:18-20 …so that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us. This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.
John 10:28-30 …and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. “My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. “I and the Father are one.”
Psalm 46:10a He says, “Be still, and know that I am God…”
1 John 5:13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
Happy Mother’s Day to ALL of the wonderful moms out there!
Ryan enjoyed being watched by his mother today, and I enjoyed her being home. Now, if I can only get her to fix me some food, all will be good. Ha! JK
Seriously, it’s good to be together. We just need Jacob home to complete the equation…
