Here’s the latest post about Luke on his Caring Bridge site:
“Good news is that the PET scan came back showing that tumor shrunk a little more and there are no active cells!! Yeah! However…. Luke’s oncologist consulted with other doctors/radiologists and they all concurred he should have radiation. This morning we met with an oncologist radiologist DR. who presented his case to the Lymphoma experts and they concurred that he should have the radiation to increase all odds for a future HL free life! The reason being for radiation is that his original tumor size was considered large and bulky (15cm), and he had multiple symptoms such as weight loss, night sweats, hard time breathing and pains in his chest. They believe the cancer is gone but to further decrease the chances of it returning he will have 3 weeks of radiation 5 days a week. We were disappointed to hear this news but glad it is only 3 weeks, it is a very targeted and a low dose radiation.
As always, thanks again for your prayers and support! God Bless!
The Souza Family”
For those of you who don’t know, Luke is the son of a good friend of mine who I went to high school with. Wonderful family, they are. Sounded like Yoda there…sorry about that. Anyway, I hope you’ll continue to support Luke and his family through your prayers. And, if you want, you can also visit his site directly on Caring Bridge.
As always, thank you for your kindness towards others. It does not go unnoticed; especially by God…
