Ryan’s Miracle Watch 7/18/18

Sorry for not posting last night. Janine and I were out partying like it was 1999, and by the time we got home I was way too tired to post anything (it was waaay past my 8:30 P.M. bedtime). Anyway, we went to see what’s become my favorite group of all time; Pentatonix. For those of you who don’t know who this group is, it’s an ahhh-capella group who, seven years ago, won a singing competition on TV and have gone on to have a very successful career. Each member is an accomplished musician in his/her own right, and together they are incredible. The amount of sound they get from just five people is, well wow! One of the highlights of last night’s show was K.O. playing the following…

Is this guy great, or what? I’m a HUGE fan!

PTX’s encore was Bohemian Rhapsody. What a fantastic ending to a fabulous concert! Go onto YouTube and take a listen. If you’re not hooked on this group after that, well…my mom always said “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything”, so I’ll just leave it at well…

When I came in this morning to watch Ryan, he was very unsettled (wide awake and coughing a lot), so around half-an-hour ago I started playing various songs performed by K.O. (Listen to his covers of Stay With Me by Sam Smith & All of Me by John Legend). I looked over at Ryan just now and he is sound asleep. Listening to beautiful music can have that affect on a person. Sleep well and sweat dreams my son…

Today marks 4 weeks without sugar. Am running 5 miles a day…no meat, dairy or flour. No caffeine! The change has been fantastic! I feel great! Zero alcohol! A healthy diet…a healthy VEGAN diet, gluten free…a two hour workout daily. I don’t know whose status this is, but I was really proud of them, so I decided to copy and paste…

Ryan was in good form and spirits today. Well, maybe not after I read him the joke above…but perhaps in spite of it…

Hope y’all have had a great start to your week! Ryan has…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 7/15/18

These pics of Ryan were posted by Janine today on her FB page. She took them while watching the World Cup between France and Croatia. For some reason, Ryan thought it was funny when the Russian protest group ran across the field in the 52nd minute. Other than that brief spectacle, the event was extremely entertaining…

All in all, it was a great day for Ryan. Gotta love him. I wish I were half the man he is…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 7/13/18

Thank you all for your prayers for Ryan. His temperature finally broke at around 2 this A.M. It’s one thing to have a temp of over 100 for several hours in a row over the course of a couple of days, but to have that when it’s in the 90’s outside is quite another. It’s difficult to watch Ryan suffer, as it is for any parent to watch their child suffer…even though I know in my core that this is only temporary…Thank you Lord for your saving grace!

I hope y’all enjoy your weekend. We’ll be enjoying ours on and with purpose…

Matthew 18:13   And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”

Matthew 19:14   Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 7/12/18

Please pray extra hard for Ryan tonight. He’s had an on-again off-again fever the past couple of days, and it’s not showing signs of subsiding despite giving him extra fever meds (Tylenol, Motrin, etc.). With God’s help, activated by our prayers, he came through it last time, and we believe he’ll do the same this time. Avoiding a trip to the hospital would be nice…Thank you!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 7/11/18

Ryan’s temp is a bit elevated this evening. His nurse just gave him some Motrin, and hopefully that’ll work to bring his temp back down to normal. There are no other signs of distress, otherwise, so for now we simply watch and wait. I know y’all are on your knees, so I’ll say Thank You for your kindness…

Luke 4:38-40   Jesus left the synagogue and went to the home of Simon. Now Simon’s mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they asked Jesus to help her. So he bent over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. She got up at once and began to wait on them. At sunset, the people brought to Jesus all who had various kinds of sickness, and laying his hands on each one, he healed them.

Lord, We ask that you rebuke Ryan’s fever…and all of his other afflictions. Please heal him completely. In Jesus’ name…

Food for Thought: Wouldn’t it be ironic if Popeye’s Chicken was fried in Olive Oil?

Speaking of fried; it was another hot one today. In fact, it was what PG&E (Pacific Gas & Electric…our utility company for those of you who don’t live around here) called a SMART Day. It’s a designated “hot” day when you shouldn’t use any large appliances between the hours of 2 P.M. and 7 P.M. It’s supposed to help prevent Brown-outs (look it up). Well, at around 2 P.M., the power in Ryan’s room went out, causing his bed to deflate and his nebulizer to stop at the beginning of his treatment. Uh oh! Fortunately, after a few minutes of troubleshooting, I figured out it was caused by a tripped circuit breaker. Turns out I had way too many cords plugged into one outlet. For those of you who have excellent taste in movies, picture the tree lighting scene in A Christmas Story. Yep, I’m an ideuht…

Tomorrow has also been designated as a SMART Day. For Ryan’s sake, I hope I can be a little smarter, and not shoot my eye out…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 7/8/18

It’s beginning to feel a lot more like summer. Twas around 90 today, and all signs point toward more of the same temps all week. It’s funny how the very people who complain Winter is too long and cold, and are begging for sunshine, are the same people to complain when they get what they’ve asked for. I suppose they’re never satisfied. Maybe they should shed that sweater, or do what we did yesterday; which was go to S.F. for its natural air-conditioning…which most of you know is fog. The fog, however, did not appear, but it was still around 15 degrees cooler than it was where we live. Adapt people! Not to be mistaken for “adopt people”…that’s an entirely different subject…

Anyway, we hope y’all enjoyed your Sunday. We continue to pray for those less fortunate than ourselves; for people who have no clothing, shelter, food, transportation, air-conditioning, etc…things we may or may not take for granted.

Lord, We are grateful and thankful for your provision. Please provide for those that need it most. Amen.

Keeping it simple stupid (applies directly to me)…

I’m just continuing to pray for Ryan’s complete recovery from the injuries sustained in his incident. In Jesus’ name…

Jeremiah 17:14   Heal ‘Ryan’, O Lord, and ‘he’ shall be healed; save ‘him’, and ‘he’ shall be saved, for you are ‘his’ praise.

Psalm 41:3   The LORD will sustain him on his bed of illness and restore him from his bed of sickness.
