Ryan’s Miracle Watch 8/31/18

I hope y’all said some nice things to people every day this week and made some new friends. It feels a lot better when we bring a kind word to someone and bring a smile to their face, doesn’t it? The more we practice this gesture, the more it’ll become a natural occurrence.

Ryan didn’t get to sleep until 5 A.M. this morning, so he was completely wiped out during my shift. It’s nice to see him get the sleep/rest he needs. While he rests, I still continue to do my Spanish lesson and listen to the Bible & music. Hopefully, Ryan’s picking up some of this through osmosis while he sleeps. I’ll know, when he snaps out of this state and starts singing Bible verses in Spanish.

Happy Labor Day Weekend Y’all!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 8/30/18

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18   Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

This is the verse that popped up when I Googled “random Bible verse”.

Pretty much sums it up…

Ryan had a great day today. He rested quite a bit in the morning, but in the afternoon, was full of smiles and laughter. I can’t get enough of his laughter. Thank you Lord for your gift…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 8/29/18

Posted on FB today by a high school friend who lost her two sons a little over a year ago:

“God can heal a broken heart, but you need to give him all the pieces.”

Please pray for those who have lost a loved one/s; that God’s comfort, peace and grace will be poured abundantly over them…

Matthew 5:4   Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4   Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

Walking in my shoes would be rather boring. Spending 30 seconds in my head, however, would freak you right out.

Speaking of spending time in someone’s head…As I watch Ryan, I often wonder what’s going on in his head. What’s he thinking? What can he comprehend? Is he talking to God? Does he hear me when I tell him I love him? I say that a lot to him. If anything gets through, I want it to be that…

1 John 4:7   Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 8/27/18

The week of saying kind words to someone is off to a great start! Today, I received several messages from many of you telling of positive results. Keep the stories coming. Ryan enjoys hearing them…

Speaking of Ryan: He’s been doing really well, thanks to all your prayers. Please keep lifting him up to God whenever he comes to mind. Thank you!! xoxo

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 8/26/18

There are all kinds of challenges being posed on and off the internet (but I mostly see them on the internet), so let’s start this week off with a challenge. How about going out of your way to say something nice to someone every day? Let’s see how many of us can say at least 5 (that would be Monday through Friday) nice things. That’s the lowest total we should have. I encourage you to have a much larger total.

Can you imagine if every one of us did this on a daily basis, 1. How much of a positive impact a kind word would make on someone’s life and, 2. How it might become an integral part of who we are? Most, if not all, of you already say kind things, but we can always do more…

So, I’ll start by saying that y’all have a special place in our hearts here in the Buchanan household. You’re wonderful people who deserve all God’s blessings upon you and yours. Have a beautiful week on and with purpose, and be on the lookout for His miraculous manifestation/s in and around you.

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 8/25/18

“Mr. Bret! Mr. Bret!”, is what I heard coming from the hill just outside our side yard this morning. I looked out, and Charlotte (5) and Brendan (3), our new neighbor’s kids, were standing there waiting for me to come out. “Go away”, I said. The end…

Yeah right…how could I say that to little kids…or pretty much anyone, for that matter? These kids are too cute, to say the least. Anyway, I invited them in and made them chocolate & banana milkshakes, and we started to watch Duck Duck Goose (a movie). Unfortunately, after about 30 minutes they had to go home and get ready for a birthday party. I’m distraught because I may never get to watch the ending of the movie…

We miss the days when we watched kid’s movies with Ryan and Jacob. Good memories, for sure. We’ll never get those moments with our kids back. We’ll have to live each moment to the fullest, so we can have more good memories. Tomorrow, I’m going to start binge watching kid’s movies, starting with Balto…

For some reason, time felt like it was in reverse today. No, I didn’t get any younger…and, neither did any of you. When I awoke this morning, I felt twice as tired as when I went to bed. Then, I got to watch Ryan sleep through my entire shift. That’s right, he didn’t wake up AT ALL for the 8 hours I was there. I will not tolerate that tomorrow! Well, maybe I might…

Please pray for God’s mercy on the people in Hawaii. I’ve got several friends who live there. Hurricanes are no joke.

Remember to thank God for everything He did for you today…as well as all the things you didn’t see Him doing on y’all’s behalves…or is it behalfs, behaves or beehives? I’m too tired to attempt to figure it out. Y’all decide…

Sleep well our friends…zzzz

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 8/22/18

It’s been nice and cool the past couple of days; at least here at home. It’s not, however, been so cool in the fire areas throughout the state. Please pray for the safety of all the fire fighters who are tirelessly trying to put them out…and for God to send rain to help…

Ryan and I have been safe and secure in our little part of the world. We give thanks to God for His divine protection and blessing upon our lives. We wish the same for y’all.

Isaiah 25:4   For You have been a defense for the helpless, a defense for the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat; for the breath of the ruthless is like a rain storm against a wall.

James 1:17   Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
