Ryan’s Miracle Watch 9/29/18

I’m in Mt. Shasta for the week working on a project. The internet is rather slow, and it happens to be raining right now. Not sure what one has to do with the other, but the internet is slow up here already, but with the rain, it’s extra slow. It’s actually taken me 5 minutes for these 2-3 sentences to show up on my screen. If this persists, I won’t be writing any more posts this week, so those of you who can’t go to sleep at night without before reading my pointless babble, I’m sorry…

According to my lovely wife, Janine (in case you’ve forgotten her name), Ryan had a good day. She’ll be watching him all week while I’m away. Ryan is so excited. I know what Ryan and I do when Janine is gone, and now I’m a bit scared to think what they’re doing while I’m away…Hmm

Y’all have a wonderful week on and with purpose! God loves you, and so do we!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 9/27/18

My mom sent this to me today:

“Here’s something I read in my devotional written by someone named Gari Meacham.
Matthew 7:7 “Jesus uses action words to describe the essence of prayer: ask, seek and knock. I’ve pondered these words for decades and have come to realize that asking prompts us, seeking confuses us and knocking just plain irritates us! The question is why did Jesus use these words as a prayer model? What not just stop at “Ask and it shall be given to you”? Perhaps the maturity and strength of faith come in the seeking and the knocking.
In times of struggle it may seem like God has gone radio-silent…crickets…no response and no fuzzy messages of hope. But rest assured, He hasn’t forgotten us or ignored our seeking and knocking prayers. He’s simply creating the perfect circumstances, timing and posture to display our heart’s desire. Soon our seeking and knocking will turn to knowing and praising — and we’ll be wiser and more faithful because of it.”

Please continue to ask, seek and knock on Ryan’s behalf. God’s doing amazing things in and through his circumstance, but I’m holding out all hope that one day soon He’ll see fit to heal Ryan completely. Thank you!

And, thanks MOM for the encouraging message!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 9/26/18

When you get to be my age, you have to get all sorts of exams and check-ups, and just some really uncomfortable and annoying stuff done to the body. Well, today I had a prostate exam; a rather unpleasant experience, to put it mildly. So, after the doctor left, the nurse walked in, closed the door behind her and whispered three words no man ever wants to hear…”Who was that?”

Ryan and I have started watching a series on Amazon Prime called “Jack Ryan”, starring John Krasinski. I’m having a difficult time thinking of him as any character other than Jim Halpert…

I believe I’ve said this before, but I’ll say it again anyway…because if I can’t remember whether or not I said it, chances are I’ll forget that I said it again and won’t really care…Anyway, I wish I could be a weatherman. Every morning, I look to see what the weather is going to be like for the day and days to come. It changes daily. Three days ago, it said today’s high was going to be in the 90’s. Two days ago, it said it was supposed to be in the mid 70’s. Yesterday, it said it was supposed to be in the low-mid 80’s. It was actually 89. I’d love to get paid lots of money to basically make things up that may or may not occur…

Thanks for listening. Hope you’re having a wonderful week on and with purpose!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 9/23/18

How could I miss wishing y’all a happy first day of Fall…or Autumn, as we Scots like to call it? I must’ve tied one too many on yesterday…actually tied both my shoes, thank you very much. This is my favorite time of year. I like the crisp air, turning leaves, the smell of burning wood (well maybe not this year, because of all the fires we had this summer…but, typically I would like the smell), pumpkin spiced fru fru drinks, Thanksgiving (I repeat, Thanksgiving), etc. etc. I also like when it gets darker earlier. Hmm, when I say it out loud, it doesn’t sound all that great. But, for some reason I like it…

Hopefully, the change in season won’t have a negative effect on Ryan’s overall health. He tends to get a little off kilter whenever there’s a change in climate. Please pray this does not happen. It would be great if he could enjoy Autumn as much as I do, without all the side effects…

Anyway, happy second day of Autumn everyone! May God’s wonder be on display for all to see! Keep your eyes open…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 9/22/18

A wife, being the romantic sort, sent her husband a text: “If you are sleeping, send me your dreams. If you are laughing, send me your smile. If you are eating, send me a bite. If you are drinking, send me a sip. If you are crying, send me your tears. I love you!” The husband, typically non-romantic, replied: “I am on the toilet. Please advise.”

BLESSED   adjective:   having good fortune bestowed and/or conferred upon

It’s what me and my family are…and hope you and yours are as well…

Here’s a tip for all the men out there: Hold your wife’s/girlfriend’s hand tightly while you’re at the mall and don’t let go. It looks romantic, but it’s actually economic, because if you let go she’ll start shopping.

Reread Matthew 5 today. Wow! There’s really a lot of meat in those beatitudes. I tried to memorize them, but gave up. speaking of meat, heck, I can’t remember what I ate for dinner tonight, much less  try to remember 10 or so verses. Oh to be young again. I used to be able to listen to a song once, and pretty much have my part along with everyone else’s parts down. I’m not bragging, I was just that good…

Speaking of good. For those of you who have heard him, you know Ryan was “just that good”. What a beautiful voice he had. Oh, how I long to hear him sing again live. Listening to recordings of him isn’t quite the same, and brings tears to my eyes. If you haven’t already, you can go to the media portion of this website and listen to him…
