Ryan’s Miracle Watch 3/31/19

Based on prior visits to the hospital, Ryan would typically be discharged within a couple of days from now, but he’s still got some things going on, so my prediction is…well, I’m not going to predict…

He’s got something going on intestinally, and they’re trying to figure out what it is. My guess is he’s sick of being in the hospital. Heck, it makes me sick being there. I can only imagine how Ryan must feel in his compromised condition.

Anyway, we plod along, hoping and praying for Ryan to get better…now…so he can go home to the comfort of his room…

Proverbs 3:5-6   Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 3/29/19

God continues to use Ryan’s story to touch lives, and to show me the unfolding of His plan…at least in our small corner of the universe. Tonight, I went to dinner at a place up the street from the hospital, and the GM of the restaurant came over to check on how my meal was, which is typical of a GM to do. An hour plus later, we finished up our conversation and I headed back to Ryan’s room at the hospital. Turns out she had heard about Ryan when he first got injured, etc. There are several important facets to our conversation that I need to sift through and contemplate, so I can write them down coherently. At this moment, I’m pretty tired and feel like I’m about to hit a wall. Please forgive me if I tell you stories again and again, because I’m too worn out to remember telling them to you in the first place…You know who you are…

Anyway, Praise God that He is still revealing wonderful things to me pretty much on a daily basis. It’s awesome (in the true sense of the word) to watch His plan unfolding before my eyes…

Lord, Please continue to heal my boy, and while we’re waiting for his healing, please continue to reveal you master plan to us. Give us a glimpse of what you’re up to. Amen

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 3/29/19

Ryan’s pancreatitis has subsided, so now he’s only got to recover from pneumonia…and he is doing so; again slowly but surely. Currently he’s in ICU, but the doctor monitoring his progress is encouraged at his progress, and considering moving him into the general population (sounds like prison) in a day or so….soon. We’ll miss ICU…really, it’s the kind people we’ll miss, and not being in ICU. We’d rather be home.

Anyway, the good news is Ryan’s getting better and we Praise God for it! Once he’s past this obstacle, it’s onto and through the next…stand up and walk Ryan!

Before signing off, Ryan would like to wish his Auntie Dana a very happy birthday, and hope she has the best birthday ever!!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 3/27/19

Ryan’s got the most amazing strength! It’s definitely of God. He continues to battle pneumonia, pancreatitis, some sort of blockage in his intestines, low blood pressure and potassium, and dehydration. All this is keeping his temperature, pulse, and blood pressure elevated. He’s got 4 different IV’s going at the same time to remedy these symptoms. Pour guy has had to suffer from needle after needle puncture just to find a vein to insert stints for the IV’s. And yet, he lays (lay? lei?) there calmly, as if to say, “It’s only a flesh wound”, and “Is that all you’ve got?” I admire his resilience. If it were me, I’d be crying like a little school boy who’d just dropped his Fudgesicle on the ground…Yes, that did happen…last year…

Anyway, it looks as though we’ll be camping out here for several more days if not a week or two. Chocolate, Marshmallows and Graham Crackers are on the shopping list for the next trip…

Thank y’all for praying. God’s answering…slowly but surely…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 3/26/19

A quick Ryan update:

Found out yesterday that along with pneumonia, he’s got acute pancreatitis. Last night, they put him in isolation; meaning before anyone enters his room, they’ve got to put on all this extra hazard wearables like they’re walking into a nuclear waste plant. Heck, I’ve been sitting in here for the past three days with nothing but a t-shirt on…ah, and pants too! Oh the humanity!

Anyway, I just came home to take a quick shower, and will be headed back to sit with him as soon as I sign off…

Singing off….bye!

Gonna type as fast as I can, because my computer is dying and is not charging for some reason. Hopefully, I can keep the spelling errors to a minimum. Go thumbs go!

Anyway, the reason for not posting the past couple of days is due to Ryan being in the hospital with a bout of pneumonia and some intestinal blockage. He’ll be there for at least another couple of days in order to clean him out of all that ails him. Please pray the antibiotics will kick whatever type of pneumonia he has, and that I can stay awake long enough to make sure the nurses give him the proper attention that the little king deserves. As you know, the name Ryan means little king. It does around here anyway.

Thank you for hanging in there with us. Without you we’d be lost…

I’ll try to get back to my daily musings, but if I don’t post for a couple/few more days, you know why.

Have a wonderful day/week on and with purpose! xoxo

Hey look ma, no spelling airers!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 3/22/19

Ryan was happy to see his brother Jacob today. Jake’s home on spring break (Is spring supposed to be capitalized?) Anyway…it’s nice to have him home…and to see Ryan smile for Jake.

So, two days in a row two different nurses called off sick for the afternoon shift. Fortunately, Ryan’s got terrific grandparents to fill in on a moment’s notice. We’re praying that the nurse will show up…

Hope y’all have a nice weekend, full of God’s grace and joy!

Nehemiah 8:10 Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Exodus 15:2 The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory.

Hang in there little buddy!

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 3/19/19

The pollen is kicking our butts around here. Ryan’s having a difficult time remaining stable. He does well for a couple of days, then back to lots of coughing and a runny nose, etc. All this, despite keeping his room as clean and dust free as possible. Nasty little tiny bits of pollen. There’s rain in the forecast tomorrow. That oughta knock it down…

Before I send out any post, I usually try to hit spell check to make sure there are no errors, but every once in a while I forget and a mistake slips past. I hate spelling errors. you mix up a couple of letters and your entire post is urined…
