I enjoyed watching Ryan today, even though he slept through most of my shift. I won’t mind if we don’t get any nurses right away…just means I get to watch him more, and there’s nothing wrong with that at all…but keep praying for more nurses anyway…
“I heard today that they’re not going to make yard sticks any longer.”
How ’bout them Warriors?!?! Can y’all say sweep? Speaking of sweeping…will someone please remind me I have to sweep Ryan’s room tomorrow?
Ryan would like to congratulate his brother Jacob for graduating from Chapman U with a BA in Business Management! Woo hoo!! Tomorrow, Jacob will start working as a junior associate for a real estate outfit based in Irvine; a regular nine to five job. He’ll have to adjust his social life to accommodate sleep. Now, he can pay back his mother for his student loans…yeah, like she’ll ever see that money again…Welcome to the real world Jacob!
Haikus are stupid.
I will not participate.
Ironic isn’t it?
We’re on our way to SoCal for Jacob’s college graduation. Praise God for our friend Bridget who will be staying at our home and overseeing the nurses while we’re gone!
Please pray that Ryan will be on his best behavior, and everything will run smoothly for Bridget and the nurses.
Thank you Bridget…and all of you who pray for and support Ryan continuously! xoxo
In addition to music, occasionally I’ll put on sounds of a rainstorm (YouTube) for Ryan to listen to. The sound of rain is so incredibly soothing, and Ryan relaxes whenever he hears it. We had rain today, so I opened the windows and Ryan listened to it first hand. The smell of crisp, fresh air was an added bonus. I may have made a crucial error when I designed his room. It might have been nice to have placed a sunroof above his bed so he could see the rain as well…and also the sky, stars, and etc. Maybe next time…
Isaiah 45:8 “You heavens above, rain down my righteousness; let the clouds shower it down. Let the earth open wide, let salvation spring up, let righteousness flourish with it; I, the Lord, have created it.
Ryan and I partied all night long. Well, we really didn’t party…he just didn’t get to sleep until around 7 A.M. this morning. I’m hoping tonight will be different, but if it’s not, so be it. I may not be the young boy I used to be, but I can still hang with the best of them…Ahh, who am I kidding? Most likely no one…
Other than sleepless nights, Ryan’s been doing well. Please pray he continues this trend throughout the rest of the week…and beyond…because we’re planning on going to SoCal this weekend to watch Jacob graduate from Chapman University, and it would be nice knowing Ryan is well. Ryan is very proud of his brother, and if he could, he would be there with us celebrating.
Hope y’all get some good sleep tonight (and have a great day, for those of you who around the world where it’s daytime). Ryan and I will keep watch…
AVOCADO: “Hello, I’m good fat.”
BACON: *lights cigarette* *punches avocado*
Hey, what do you want? I’ve been working a hundred billion (with a “b”) hours straight!!
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO ALL YOU MOMS OUT THERE!!
Ryan and I are home along for the week while Janine is out of town on business. We didn’t get to spend any time with her, but managed to sneak in a brief phone call. I took a picture of Ryan and sent it to her, but it didn’t capture him in his best light…although, he looks good anyway. I won’t post it for fear of retribution from him…
We hope all of you moms out there were lavishly pampered by the ones you reared…
Proverbs 31:28–29: Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: ‘Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.'”
Ryan’s turning 25 on June 1st, and to celebrate, we’re throwing him a party…kinda like we do every year…just a different year. Please stop in on Saturday, June 1st between the hours of 2:30 P.M. and 7:30 P.M. to help Ryan celebrate a quarter of a century (Wow! Sounds old when I say it that way) circling the sun. The five “F’s” will be in full swing…and any other “F’s” you can think of. For those of you older than dirt (or not), that means Family, Friends, Food, Festivities & Fun. Other letters of the alphabet will be going on as well, and I would’ve included them, but it sounded more sofistikayt’d using only F’s. Anyway, y’all won’t want to miss it.

For some reason my computer wouldn’t connect to the internet last night, so you were spared…but, you’ll be getting a double dose today…DOH!
CALM adjective: marked by freedom from agitation or excitement, steadiness of mind under stress
Ryan and I spent the greater part of the day listening to music and watching the recording of the Warriors game. I have a difficult time watching them play live. It makes me tense, and I don’t need any tension in my life right now; or anytime for that matter. So, it’s best just to stay away from anything that causes tension and/or that is negative. That’s one reason I don’t watch the news. Can’t remember the last time I watched the news. The world could be on fire, and I wouldn’t know. Not that it’s about me, anyway. How ’bout them Warriors, huh?!?
Ryan seems to take everything in stride…always has. He’s just one of those people that goes with the flow…or creates his own flow. Even when he’d get into trouble, which wasn’t very often, he’d accept his punishment, learn from his mistake (sometimes it wasn’t him making the mistake) and move on. Always the calm one, this kid. Even as I see him laying here now, he’s so calm…patient…quiet amidst the storm…I love hanging out with him…
Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
MYSTERIOUS adjective: having an import not apparent to the senses nor obvious to the intelligence; beyond ordinary understanding
For some reason, I thought it was Friday today. I’d say it’s due to being sick, but we all know age is the culprit. So, I’m a day ahead of myself…going new places and meeting new people all the time. Frequent trips to the kitchen are like mini vacations; especially those on cruise ships. The buffet is always open…oops, I think I left the refrigerator door open again…Speaking of refrigerators: I’d better check Ryan’s to make sure it’s stocked up with bottled water for the nurses…
And speaking of Ryan: All I can say is, God moves in mysterious ways. His ways are way beyond my understanding…
Romans 11:33 Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!
