Ryan’s Miracle Watch 6/24/19

There is no one else like you. You have gifts that only you can give the world. You have blessings others can only receive through you. The Lord designed every detail of who you are. He looks at you and loves you because you are His creation. Others look at you and love you, too, because they see who He has made you to be.

To me, this describes Ryan. Ryan lets Gods light shine through him. He doesn’t hide it under a bushel. He shares the gifts God has given him with the world. He is an example to me, and hopefully his example will be for you as well.

Let your God given gifts shine for all the world to see!

God saw everything that He made, and behold, it was very good. GENESIS 1:31

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 6/22/19

Ryan had another excellent day today. He was awake pretty much throughout my shift which is fun, because I can try to interact with him…even though the conversation is mostly one way. He and I did manage to watch a couple of soccer games and some Triple D. We also enjoyed watching the Bermuda Philharmonic Orchestra, until the guy playing the triangle disappeared…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 6/21/19

Ryan was awake all day today. I don’t think he shut his eyes even once. How does one do that without his/her eyeballs drying out. It’s called eyedrops. He finally went to sleep at 10 P.M. I was so happy he did, because I finally got to watch some saved episodes of Cupcake Wars…

Speaking of cupcakes: Once you lick the frosting off of a cupcake, it becomes a muffin, and muffins are healthy for you. You’re welcome…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 6/20/19

Ryan started the day with a bit of a temperature…not uncommon when there are rapid weather changes…a rapid weather change around here means it’s 10-15 degrees cooler than the day before. So, it was in the upper 90’s to low 100’s this past weekend, and today the high was 68. Because Ryan has a difficult time regulating his body temperature, these changes reek havoc on him. A few Ibuprofens kept him in check. Please pray his temp remains in check, and that we don’t have to give him any additional meds tomorrow. I would like him to be awake so we can watch a recording of Holey Moley together…Oh, and a recording or two of Battlebots…

Don’t forget to thank the Lord for today’s blessings, and sleep well tonight…Night all…zzzzzzzzzzzz

Invert the 6, and it would be 9/19/19…But, not today. That day will come fast enough…

“Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad. Philosophy is wondering if that means ketchup is a smoothie.”

“Our local movie theater got robbed of $1000 yesterday. The thieves stole 2 large popcorns, a hot dog, a pack of Skittles and a medium diet Coke.”

“I wonder if the guy who came up with the term ‘One hit wonder’ came up with any other phrases.”

Okay, last one…

“I bought a little bag of air today. The company that made it was kind enough to put some potato chips in it as well.”

You may not have, but Ryan laughed…

BRICK   noun:   rectangular block of clay baked by the sun or in a kiln; used as a building or paving material

You’ve most likely heard the phrase, “It hit me like a ton of bricks” or something to that effect. I imagine that would hurt like crazy. Actually, I imagine getting hit with a ton of anything would hurt like crazy…that is, if you lived to feel the pain. This phrase, however, is usually a metaphor meaning to profoundly become aware of. Well, the reason for this prologue is this: As I was filling a container with water for the purpose of hourly hydration for Ryan (hourly hydration is important to ward off UTI’s, amongst other things), it hit me how much our family is blessed to have water, and clean water at that, readily available through faucets both inside and outside of our home. Conversely, there are many people in this world who don’t have access to water, yet alone clean water, and many have to travel some distance to get it. There are things I can imagine, and things I cannot. Not having access to clean water is something I cannot.

Thank you Lord for clean water to hydrate my son, and for the medicine you provide, and for our home, and for a nearby hospital and the resources to pay for whatever our needs are, and for transportation to get places, and for…WE HAVE SO MUCH TO BE THANKFUL FOR!!

PS – Thank you for not letting a ton of anything hit me literally…

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY TO ALL THE AMAZING FATHERS OUT THEIY’RE!!!

Psalm 103:13   As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him.

Proverbs 3:11-12   My child, when the Lord God speaks to you, never take his words lightly, and never be upset when he corrects you. For the Father’s discipline comes only from his passionate love and pleasure for you. Even when it seems like his correction is harsh, it’s still better than any father on earth gives to his child.

Well, the Warriors gave it their best shot tonight, only to come up a bit short. Hats off and congratulations to the Toronto Raptors!

As a spectator, I don’t concern myself with wins and losses, but truly believe it’s about how the game is played. A good nail biter of a game is a good game; win or lose. After all, to me it’s merely entertainment. And what better way to be entertained than to be kept on the edge of my seat throughout? I’m more concerned about the well-being of the people who play it. Their physical and, more importantly, their spiritual well-being. That said, I hope Clay and KD, and any other players in the league who have suffered an injury, heal quickly and completely, so they can get back to the thing/s they love to do. And (again, more importantly), that they’ll draw close to God.

Tomorrow (Lord willing) is another day. Let’s look for God working in each and every moment, whether we’re winning or losing. Let’s pray for healing, salvation, peace, comfort and _________________  (You fill in the blank) for those in our lives that need it. Asking God to move in someone else’s life is one of the nicest things you can do for someone. Let’s do some nice things…a lot of them.

Thank you for praying for Ryan all these years. We appreciate your kindness more than you will ever know!
