Ryan’s Miracle Watch 8/21/19

Here’s a little something to get you over that last little hump in the middle of the week…

I before E except after C…Except when your foreign neighbor Keith received eight counterfeit beige sleighs from feisty caffeinated weightlifters. Weird!

Did you know that the phrase “And it came to pass” is found more than 400 times in the Bible? Headaches, clogged drains, personality conflicts — all come only to pass. We can focus on the Lord, and He will bring us through…

Lord, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven…Amen

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 8/20/19

Matthew 6:10   Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.

God’s will is done in heaven. So, how does heaven typify God’s will? What is heaven?

Simply put, heaven is the place where God lives. It’s a world of everlasting, ever-increasing joy in the presence of God.

In Revelation 21, the Bible talks about a “new heaven and new earth”:

1-4   Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

In Heaven, there are no more tears, no more death or pain. God’s will is for this to be the case on earth.

So, I’m praying Matthew 6:10. It may be a simple prayer, but I don’t think it’s ever been God’s intent to make things complicated for us. I encourage y’all to pray along with me…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 8/19/19

Y’all know I pretty much wait until the end of any given day to post something (mostly nonsense), and I just now realized I didn’t post anything yesterday. That’s because yesterday never ended for me, as the night nurse was off, and I ended up taking her shift. That, and the fact I pretty much don’t know the difference from one day to the next anyway, threw me off a bit. What day is it again? Ever been in that place?

Well, it’s going to be even worse (or better?) in Heaven, because there is no time…no end in sight…pretty much joy and bliss for eternity…I think I can get used to that. Can’t wait!

Can you imagine having a child giving you no trouble whatsoever; not having to worry about him/her, not having to buy the latest brand-name clothes, knowing where he/she is at all times, etc…just an angel of a child? Well, we’re fortunate enough not to have to imagine this at all, because we have one child just like this. Can you guess which child I’m talking about?

Don’t fret none. It’s a trick question. Both our boys are angels, and God’s got both of them in His hands. Therefore, I don’t worry about either one of them. They are no trouble at all. I may not know where they are at all times, but God does, and that takes a load off of my mind.

Philippians 4:19   But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Joshua 1:9   Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Oh! The part about not having to buy the latest brand-name clothes…we never did that anyway. Instead, we taught our boys to appreciate what they have, because there are a lot of people in this world who have it a lot harder than they (we) do. What more do you need than God anyway?

Hebrews 13:5 “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.'”

PERFECT   adjective:   being complete of its kind and without defect or blemish

“How was my day?”, you may ask. “Perfect” will be my reply from now on. No matter what circumstances I may face throughout any given day, they will always be along the path that leads to eternity with my Lord and Savior. I betcha Ryan would say the exact same thing…

Romans 12:2   Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Romans 8:38-39   For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 8/15/19

Ryan was one of those kids who thought he knew everything about anything, and the way he delivered his version of the truth would sometimes have even the most learned of people convinced an untruth was actually a truth. One such time was when he was around 7 or 8 years of age. We had just finished attending a Christmas Eve candlelight service in Walnut Creek and were on our way to Hayward (around 1 in the morning). Anyway, he decided to ride with his grandparents instead of us, and somewhere along the way he convinced them he knew how to get to Hayward, and that GPS wouldn’t be necessary. After all, he’d been to Hayward a million times before. Let’s just say it took them much longer to arrive at their destination in Hayward than it should have. We almost called in a missing persons report…

“I hate it when people act all intellectual and talk about Mozart while they’ve never seen one of his paintings.”

I hope Ryan’s learning a lot of things as he lays in his bed communing with God…

Ryan’s Miracle Watch 8/11/19

The month before Jacob came home had to have been the slowest ever recorded. He arrived this past Thursday and left this afternoon, and that had to have been the fastest four days ever recorded…Feels like Spring Fever all over again and summer vacation is over before you know it…I think you know what I’m talking about.

Live and enjoy each and every moment to the fullest (even if some of those moments are ones of anticipation) because, truth be told, they come and go in the blink of an eye no matter what kind of moment they are.

Did you know Home Goods already has their Halloween items on the shelves?? Start shopping for Christmas now!

Lord, Please heal Ryan completely, and now…just as fast as the last four days passed…Amen
