We often hear, “Life is short…better enjoy it!”
How about, “Eternity is long…better prepare for it.”
Titus 3:4-7 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.
Happy Friday Y’all!!
Sorry I missed writing this at 9:19 this evening…
Today Ryan and I watched the recording of last night’s America’s Got Talent; winner revealed. We had Cody Lee for the win since his first audition. It was a no-brainer! People like Cody inspire me to no end…certainly I can do better…and I should be laughing and smiling every step of the way…
Psalm 100 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God.It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.
In reality, plants are actually farming us, by giving us oxygen daily, until we all eventually decompose so they can consume us.
Genesis 3:19 By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.
One can only imagine what Moses must have thought when God spoke to him through a burning bush.
The first person who heard a parrot speak was probably not okay for several days. Would’ve been worse had the parrot been on fire.
I haven’t lost all my marbles yet, but there’s certainly a small hole in the bag somewhere.
BTW: Ryan had a good day today. And, so did I because he smiled at me. Gotta love that kid…
It was nice to wake up to rain this morning. Fall is my favorite time of year, and I can’t wait until it is officially calendarically (a new word) so. The rain cleans the air and keeps the pollen down, so maybe Ryan will finally get over the coughing/sneezing spells that have ravaged him these past several weeks. I hesitate saying this out loud, because I don’t want to jinx it (not that I believe in jinxing), but he’s actually had a terrific last couple of days. Thank you Lord!
Please pray for more rain and less pollen here…and more rain in areas in the world that need it, and less in places that don’t…and that Ryan continues on this good trend…
A grandfather was walking through his yard when he heard his granddaughter repeating the alphabet in a tone of voice that sounded like a prayer. He asked her what she was doing. The little girl explained, “I’m praying, but I can’t think of exactly the right words, so I’m just saying all the letters, and God will put them together for me because He knows what I’m thinking.”
Psalm 139:4 Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely.
Romans 8:26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.
Lord, You know my heart prayer for Ryan. Please make up for what I lack. Amen
Ryan started the day sneezing a lot (for about 2 1/2 hours), but was cool, calm and collected for the remainder. Janine and I stopped in to see him just now, after having returned home from spending the afternoon with my family, and he greeted us with the biggest smile ever…
I wasn’t able to grab my phone camera fast enough to capture the moment, but was able to find this photo on-line which looks fairly similar…
Ryan’s looking more and more like his dad each day…
Let’s end the work week with some funnies!
And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found on all corners of the world. Then he made the earth round…and laughed and laughed and laughed and…
Healthy Eating #36 I buy fresh vegetables every day. I feed them to my pig and he converts them into bacon.
My girlfriend dumped me, so I stole her wheelchair. Guess who came crawling back?
Two blondes walk into a building. You’d think one of them would’ve seen it.
I went down to the paint store to get thinner. It didn’t work.
Happy Friday Everyone! We hope and pray y’all have a fantastic weekend on and with purpose!
Occasionally, while scrolling through FB, tucked few and far in-between the politics/backstabbing/sob-stories/cat & food pics/and like garbage, there are some precious gold nuggets that motivate me to want to be a better human being…and, fortunate enough for me, worded in the simplest of ways. Here are a couple of those nuggets.
“When you see something beautiful in someone, tell them. It may take a second to say, but for them it could last a lifetime.”
“Forgive others as quickly as you expect God to forgive you.”
Two is enough for today. I don’t think my brain can handle anymore…
Ryan’s slowly, but surely, getting back to his old (actually young) self, but he still has allergy attacks for a few hours a couple times during the day. I’ve purchased some “plant-based” non-toxic cleaning supplies that will hopefully help. The first box of supplies came today, so I’ll be trying them out tomorrow. We’ll see…
Thank y’all for your continued love and support throughout this season…
Best one I saw today:
John 13:34 A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
1 John 3:18 Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
1 John 4:12-13 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit.
Ephesians 4:2-3 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
