Ryan’s Miracle Watch 3/26/20

I just posted something I had written yesterday and thought was posted. There is a glitch in this system. I believe it’s called usererroris. I’m sure someone is going to blame it on Trump. We all need to pray for our leaders! And, our country. And, the world at large.

Ryan and I had a good day…well, as good as it can get. After my shift, I went to the hospital to pick up some of his meds. I was surprised at the new procedures in place just to get into the hospital. Every walkway is blocked by flagging except for the one which leads directly to the front entry. Upon arriving at said front entry, I stood in line…in a boxed outlined on the ground with blue masking tape, spaced 6-feet apart. When I got to the front of the line, someone greeted me with hand sanitizer. Then, I was called to stand in another blue box where I was asked a series of questions…What was I there for? Have I had the sniffles? Fever? What kind of car do you drive? What’s your favorite color? What would you like for your last meal? Actually, I spaced after the fever question. Upon completion of answering all questions, I was awarded with a green ribbon that would identify me as a person who answered all of the questions, what I am assuming, correctly. I was so proud of my accomplishment. I knew I was smart, but just how smart, I had no idea. Some say I’m sharp as a marble. How honored I felt. That is, until Igot inside and saw other people with ribbons on too. Some had blue. Others red. Others white. I began to see a pattern and realized my green represented fourth place. Bubble burst…or is it bursted?

When I got to the pharmacy…repeat the entire process…with the exception of the ribbon. Already had mine…thank you very much.

The upside of the adventure…not much traffic at, what typically would have been like a parking lot, that time of day. And, I was in and out of the hospital in less than ten minutes…

PS – I threw my stupid fourth place ribbon away…

  1. Bret, you and I have never met, but thank you — I really needed a good laugh today and you delivered in a big way.

    Praying for Ryan
