Many of you know for most of my professional career I was a salesman. There’s a saying in the sales world, “for every no you hear, you’re one no closer to a yes.” I took that saying to heart and, therefore, did not get down whenever I heard a “no”, knowing that if I was persistent, eventually that “no” would become a yes.
I apply a similar saying to whenever I ask God for something, and he says “not now”. Because of my career as a salesman, I know from experience I’m one “not now” closer to “okay, here you go”.
Lord, Please heal my son. Amen
2 Corinthians 1:20-22 For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
PS – We also had a saying that in order to become an excellent salesman, you want to be one phone call short of a stalker…
