Be HUMBLE and do not think you are better than anyone else, for dust you are, and to dust will you return. Philippians 2:3-4 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
GRATEFUL adj feeling thankful, appreciative Did you wake up this morning? Did you have running water? Did you have anything to eat today? Did your car start? Do you even have a car? A bicycle? Any mode of transportation? Were you able to walk? Do you have a roof over your head? Do you have a TV? A refrigerator? Something to sit on? Clothing? Shoes? Makeup? A mask? Something to read? A nail file? Money? Family? Friends? Do you have a job? Do you have your health? Do you have medicine? Bread? A toothbrush? Lights? A phone? PC? A haircut? Power tools? Workout equipment? You know those surveys that come out on FB every once in a while that have you check the boxes of things you’ve done, places you’ve been, things you won’t eat, etc.? Well, the things I’ve listed above are not part of any survey I know of, but just me taking stock of a few of the things I have that I am grateful for…and definitely not in order of importance. Point is, we have much to be thankful for…most of which we take for granted. DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING FOR GRANTED, BUT BE GRATEFUL FOR ALL THINGS. There is one thing that should be at the top of everyone’s list; HAVING A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Got a bit warm today…up to 96 degrees to be precise. But, who wants to talk about the weather? Let’s talk about Christmas (and cooler weather)! There are 7,470,381 seconds left until Christmas. That’s 87 days for those of us who are bad at math. Better start your Christmas shopping now, because Amazon is going to be backlogged at the time you normally do your shopping; meaning the intended recipients of your well-thought out gifts won’t receive their presents until sometime in February…just sayin’. PS-The face mask I’ve been wearing since March has holes in it…hint hint
I highly recommend y’all watch “The Social Dilemma” that just came out on Netflix. As you watch, keep in mind that there is an absolute truth, that if we can somehow, manage to make the center of EVERYTHING, we will be okay. John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the TRUTH and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” 1 John 3:18 Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in TRUTH. John 8:31a-32 Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the TRUTH, and the TRUTH will set you free.”
Only one season left in 2020. Let’s make it a good one! Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace. https://youtu.be/fHvf20Y6eoM
The smoke has cleared from the skies, and we can once again see blue. But, I understand it will be short-lived as the weather people are saying this weekend the blue skies will be blocked by smoke, fog and smog. Well, it was nice while it lasted. Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Ah, if we could only see them…
Isaiah 6:3b “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” Go outside, close your eyes and listen for this chant, if you will, reverberating throughout the heavens. Then, open your eyes and look around at all of God’s creation. You can’t help but notice him everywhere you look. You really can’t…
I encourage you to pray this every morning. You should learn/see some amazing things. Psalm 25:4 Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths.
I talk to Ryan every day. It sure would be nice if I could be quite and just listen to him talk…
It’s no secret there have been a lot of weird/strange/bad things going on in 2020, but I guarantee you if you stop, take a deep breath and think about it, there are a lot more good things than bad. Remember who’s really the victor in the end, and keep that positive attitude and hope going. Thank you Lord for eternal life in Jesus!
