Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
Lord, Today we remember and honor those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom. May we live worthy lives in memory of their sacrifice. Amen
Don’t feel sorry for or fear for your kids because the world they are going to grow up in is not what it used to be. God created them and called them for the exact moment in time that they’re in. Their life wasn’t a coincidence or an accident. Raise them up to know the power they walk in as children of God. Train them up in the authority of His Word. Teach them to walk in faith knowing that God is in control. Empower them to know they can change the world. Don’t teach them to be fearful and disheartened by the state of the world but hopeful that they can do something about it. Every person in all of history has been placed in the time that they were in because of God’s sovereign plan. He knew Daniel could handle the lions den. He knew David could handle Goliath. He knew Esther could handle Haman. He knew Peter could handle persecution. He knows that your child can handle whatever challenge they face in their life. He created them specifically for it! Don’t be scared for your children, but be honored that God chose YOU to parent the generation that is facing the biggest challenges of our lifetime. Rise up to the challenge. Raise Daniels, Davids, Esthers and Peters! God isn’t scratching His head wondering what He’s going to do with this mess of a world. He has an army He’s raising up to drive back the darkness and make Him known all over the earth. Don’t let your fear steal the greatness God placed in them. I know it’s hard to imagine them as anything besides our sweet little babies, and we just want to protect them from anything that could ever be hard on them, but they were born for such a time as this. ~Alex Cravens
Daily I ask you to make Ryan whole again, and today is no different. You tell me to come to you with confidence, so that’s what I’m doing; knowing that you understand my heart’s desire…that my boy be healed here on earth. Please restore him to 100%. Not days or weeks or years from now, but now. Please! Amen
Hebrews 4:16 “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”
Went to bed early last night after working a few shifts in a row. On the bright side, you didn’t have to listen to me babble on about nothing. Oh! And, one of Ryan’s nurses took my shift today, and I go to have the entire day off! A day off now and then are good for the sole…and this old body. What a blessing!
May God fill you life with blessings as He has done mine! xoxo
We’ve adopted the philosophy of living in each moment on purpose; looking for God’s moving, and watching His plan unfold. It can be quite mind-blowing at times, but there are certainly a lot of quiet moments when we’re still, that could be considered boring, but can be just as mind-blowing when viewed in the grand scheme of things.
Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.
The bad news is: Ryan slept through my entire shift this afternoon, which means he’ll probably be awake during the noc shift, which means he’ll probably sleep during my shift tomorrow morning. The good news is: I’m also working the afternoon shift (for a total sixteen hours tomorrow), so I’m bound to catch him awake at some point. We’ll find out if he’s trying to avoid me.
1 Corinthians 15:51-54 Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”
2 Peter 3:8 But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Did you know today is the 21st day of the month, in the 21st week of the 21st year of the 21st century? I wouldn’t have noticed if I hadn’t seen a post on FB. It goes without saying (but I’ll say it anyway), I’ve probably missed a lot of things because I wasn’t looking. I really don’t want to miss a miracle or three (not that 21 21 21 21 is a miracle) because I’m not looking or paying attention. So, I’m going to keep my eyes peeled. I encourage y’all to do the same…
